2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumI'm glad the Dems have a very popular second place candidate
in case Hillary goes down, as seems increasingly likely.

I am not gloating over this. I really wish she hadn't done this. The ONLY thing that saves her is that I don't think there was malicious intent, just arrogance. But if it can be shown there was some intent to circumvent security for the benefit of the Clinton Foundation or some such, she is rightly screwed.

(2,760 posts)I don't think it's any more or less likely than it was a week ago.
That said, if Hillary is not the nominee for some reason, I will gladly line up behind Bernie.

(12,689 posts)An indictment is quite unlikely, because there hasn't even been evidence that a crime was actually committed. If there is no indictment, it's really going to be hard to push the second place finisher into the nomination. The superdelegates simply are not going to force Sanders into the nomination, even in the event of fairytale indictment fantasy or the coughing illness fantasy. Most of the electorate did not vote for him.

(7,018 posts)they would surely throw at her everything they've got, plus added inventions and lies. She
wouldn't be able to function as president. That's the Republicans' style -- unless she would
agree to do everything they told her to do.

(7,723 posts)I was starting to accept Clinton as the nominee, now I'm worried. I will be disappointed if she loses to trump, for sure. But I don't suppose that's what you meant.
