Obama Backlash, Clinton Backlash?

I have my qualms about Clinton, but this is not about that at all.

I think we can all agree that the election of Obama was at least a couple progressive steps forward. But, at the same time, it would be hard to argue that there has not also be a racist backlash against him. While publicly displaying your bigotry has, generally speaking, been a less and less acceptable thing to do, there are a lot of shitty people who have felt empowered to say terrible things by the fact that there's a black man in the white house.

If Clinton makes it through this election cycle and gets the presidency, how do you think it will play out? Do you think we will see a similar surge of loud, shitty sexism?

Note: I am reposting this here, because it was locked in GD. I don't understand why - This is not about the primaries. The assumption being made is a successful Clinton election. I think we can all agree that GD-P is a cesspool right now, and this thread is not about Hillary vs Bernie at all. But... TPTB disagree, so here we are

But I worry more about constant calls for committee hearings and impeachment than I do about heightened sexism.
