2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumHillary Supporters and Democrats!!
We have no reason to give Bernie anything he demands. He will not campaign for Hillary and even if he does... Do we want that? Do we want this reckless behavior in Hillary's campaign that he has been doing lately? I don't think so. We should never put up or give in to threats. Listen, a day or two of riots in Philly is not a thing to worry about! It will pass. Lets win this! I am going to take a nap and think about a plan. Our own DU way of helping. I say, we should start by Vet and expose. We can do that all weekend. Have a Vet and expose Bernie weekend for starts.
Let me know what you think. I will be back after a nap.

(13,218 posts)And asking such an important question. As I have posted multiple times here on DU, except for the BSers that are loud, obnoxious, immature, and cannot accept reality. the rest of the supporters are adults and will come to whatever decision they want without pleading, cajoling, or being bought.

(5,761 posts)Because if you want to win the White House, you will need us and as it stands right now, many won't be voting for YOUR candidate.
You go ahead and you vet and expose because in reality, you have little to next to nothing. Literally. What are you going to do, sound like a Republican and cue up the "free stuff", "communist" and "socialist" whistles?
You go right ahead. I welcome that and I welcome the chance to debunk every one of your talking points and make you sound like Ted Cruz in the process.

(13,218 posts)you're not quite as full of yourself as post # 1.

(47,803 posts)40 percent of the primary voters is nothing to sneeze at if you want to win in November.
Blow that off and we have President Trump.

(47,803 posts)Clinton supporters are not monolithic, and neither are Sanders supporters.
In general, it's best to look at people as individuals, IMO.

(30,481 posts)1) This will agitate most of his supporters. There is a very small segment who are fun to poke but this would agitate outside of that. It's what they are doing in large and it rubs me the wrong way. Your approach will instigate the current problem.
2) We won. Most of them are well aware. Time to set sights elsewhere.
3) In concert with point one and two, they lost the primary. What one positive aspect will play out in your scenario?
4) Trump is a monster and discussions about Trump and Clinton are being welcomed in GD. P.
Your reasons for wanting to take your actions are sound. That doesn't mean they are a solid path forward.
Hope you have s wonderful nap.

(2,740 posts)Good luck with that.
The media will be busy vetting the once-great Hillary Clinton, the FLOTUS/Senator/Secretary of State who almost had it all.
It's a tragic yet epic story, and it's not a dream.

(10,437 posts)don't discard what similar rioting in Philly will do...as the media will portray as the leftist DEMOCRATS....just like they will portray any violence in Cleveland as being caused by DEMOCRATIC protestors

Traditional Dems would not .
1- say healthcare for all is impossible.
2- vote for war
3- vote for fracking / keystone
4- support bailing out banks
5- support the TPP
6- support SOPA
7- support border fence
8- support offshore / arctic drilling
9- support loss of civil liberties
10- support economic inequality
A few of the glaring differences between the two.

(2,262 posts)thinking capabilities that differ from yours. We see both Clintons as dangerous threats to the improvement of society in general and the sick, poor and most lower and middle income families. But you live in your own little dream world.
If you or your backers respond, I will not turn this into a pissing match. Just wanted to "correct the record".
