they are all good!

Picture is credited to jillan in the Sanders group

How many millennials remember this song, evidence that Sanders has some older supporters.

And a few are even women

Played it for my -at that time - 84ish year old mom and got her singing along with the refrain! Sweet sweet memory, and she's 91 now

wishing you and your Mom many sweet memories

I remember some of those with my daughter and Mom in the hospital with a cassette recorder, that was when they still let small children in for a visit. My daughter has gone from a three year old sitting in bed with her grandmother in the hospital singing to now being doc, happy memories

Thx!

although one of my all time favorites is Elizabeth Reed, still would prefer Melissa though

This song catches you in the beginning, then brings you in slowly and just builds from there.

I hate it with a passion, the white hot passion of a million burning suns. I was a young woman in the late 70's and you have no idea how many guys tried to woo me by singing "sweet Melissa" at me. It was one of those things that immediately ended any chance the guy might ever have had. My face has always been an open book, so they usually knew it pretty quickly. My niece is named Jessica, another Allman Bros. song, and I tell her to be thankful it is an instrumental piece!
