Vermont Right-Wingers Threaten Bernie Sanders With 'The Legal Letterhead'

Brady Toensing is a partner in the law firm, diGenova & Toensing, in Vermont. He's also vice chair of the Vermont Republican Party. Now, taken separately, both positions are relatively harmless. In combination? Well, I leave that to the reader to decide.

Last week Toensing sent letters, on legal letterhead no less, to both the United States Attorney for the District of Vermont, and to Senator Bernie Sanders.

In the letter to the US Attorney, he's asking for an investigation of a loan to the now closed Burlington College.

Then he slams down the old reliable, "you may be called as witnesses", which is lawyer-speak for "let's intimidate these people without actually making a claim that we're going to file a lawsuit, since we know we really aren't."

It's called threat by letterhead.

Does the person sending the letter have standing?

Somehow I doubt it.

7. The lawsuit is on behalf of a group of Vermont residents

who are parishioners in the dioceses that lost between $1.5 million and $2 million dollars on the deal that Jane Sanders brokered.

10. No one bothers to ask that question when they are trying to slander the Clintons.

It's the old adage that "a lie can make it around the world before the truth can get its pants on." This is only the beginning if Bernie is the Democratic nominee. The GOP has made an art of the smear campaign and Bernie is only beginning to 'feel the Burn.'

Bernie was on a CNN Sunday Morning show last Sunday, (Can't remeber whether it was State of the Union, or Reliable Sources and when the pundant said to him in response to Bernie bragging about his favorable ratings compared to Hillary, "the Clintons have been the targets of smear campaigns for 30 years" "You have not been tested the way the Clintons have", Bernie stated that "You didn't see the commercials run at me when I ran for Senate in 2008". Shit no one outside of Vermont saw any ads run against Bernie in 2008, but they will in 2016 so who is he kidding. If the RW smear machine can make up shit like the Clintons murdered Vince Foster, and all of the other "-Gates" that Ken Starr spent years and millions of taxpayer dollars investigating in the 90's on behalf of the GOP and came up empty except for some lame charge against Web Hubble of Arkansas, and Bill Clinton lying about receiving a blowjob, than let the games begin. Bernie and Jane don't know what they are in for should Bernie become the nominee. The GOP will destroy them and won't think twice about it.
