but I believe that his point is that the loyalty of uncommitted delegates belongs to no one before they actually vote at the convention. And, if I understand him correctly, he doesn't believe that uncommitted delegates should make any promises before the convention or (as was often the case here) before Sanders even declared his candidacy. And, while that may sound good, it is a bit unrealistic to hope that these most political of delegates will not be making deals and commitments whenever they think it best for themselves.
