Do Liberal Democrats and Progressives tend to care more about ethics than Republicans?

Then how can you expect them to vote for one of the most corrupt politicians in decades? Do you think that many will be able to override their conscience and vote for Hillary when election day comes?

I would say, Liberal Democrats and Progressives tend to care more about ethics ... when it is convenient; otherwise, Liberal Democrats and Progressives behave just like everyone else.

Whether a given act or policy is despicable or laudable depends entirely on the letter after the name of the politician responsible for it.

I don't think we do, though. I think that defending bad behavior of office holders is one of the more dysfuntional elements of party loyalty. What is really disturbing is the willingness to be loyal and not demand it.

It seems that situational ethics are applied within the party, too.

I don't think anyone here would have thought he was victimized for being held accountable and paying child support. I think there would have been a lot of outrage if he had continued his campaign leaving us all in the midst of his scandal during an election.

But, there seems to not be a similar demand for accountability and loyalty in the case of Clinton.

and only get a slap on the wrist-- but when Edward Snowden and Chelsea Manning reveal the fucked up doings of our alphabet soup agencies and our military, Liberal Democrats and Progressives start howling that they need to be hung? You bet your ass they don't care about ethics. They only care for their tribalism.

Now Republicans can say: "Democrats are corrupt as well...", "Democrats only care about winning as well..." which sadly the Hillary campaign is also proving.
