Related: About this forumThat's Sexist!
I have seen a lot of Clinton supporters suggesting that, if Hillary loses the GE, it will somehow be Bernie's fault.
I have to say, this is very much denying Clinton's agency as a woman. She is absolutely capable of losing this election on her own merits.
Blaming a man for her loss (and not even the man she is running against at that) would be sexist as hell.

(757 posts)...though it is about 12 years late. You've still got a couple years on me here, though, so I suppose it's your right I still miss the Top Ten Conservative Idiots, which was what brought me here back in the day.
Back on topic, though:
It seems to me that, if Bernie has the power to make Clinton lose, he must conversely have the power to make her win?
It's just a matter of flipping the script - it would be sexist to say that Clinton only won because of a man (be it her husband or be it Bernie), right? I feel reasonably certain that, if Clinton wins, there will not be a lot of Clinton supporters talking about how she couldn't have won without support from Sanders.
If you believe Clinton can win this election on her own merits, it's not outlandish to say that she could lose it the same way.

(13,218 posts)Without researching I can't tell if the person has been around for a while or not, and it's easier to assume (I'm lazy). Also I apologize for being a little snarky. No, it not my right just because I've been on board a little longer than you. I should have given you the benefit of the doubt. Sorry. I'll try to be more civilized in the future. PS. I too miss the Top Ten Conservative Idiots.
Obviously people will have gender but it's only sexist if it's important to one's argument (actually, it has to be because the argument says part of the reason is they are that sex). Standing alone, the argument "if Hillary loses the GE, it will somehow be Bernie's fault", we don't know the sex of either person. So it's not sexist. I could be talking about a robot and its programmer. Blaming a person (who happens to be a man or a woman) is not sexist. I admit, incidentally, that it does get confusing.
