Bernie Sanders jabs California Governor Jerry Brown....calls him the "Democratic establishment"

FYI: Jerry Brown is a superdelegate.

From the Sacramento Bee:

Bernie Sanders jabs back at Jerry Brown, ‘Democratic establishment’
MAY 31, 2016

Bernie Sanders on Tuesday jabbed back at Gov. Jerry Brown’s endorsement of Hillary Clinton in the presidential campaign, saying he is accustomed to opposition from “the Democratic establishment.”

“I will tell you that in every state that we have gone into, we have taken on the entire Democratic establishment,” Sanders said in response to a question about the Democratic governor’s endorsement. “It’s not surprising to me that, you know, we will have the Democratic establishment supporting Hillary Clinton.”

He added, “I like Jerry Brown, but people can make their own choices.”

One week before California’s June 7 primary, Sanders stopped for reporters in a hotel hallway after leaving a news conference without taking any questions.

I like Brown too, for the most part. If I had a better choice I would pick it, but I absolutely voted for Brown. I think he needs to do a better job with shrinking our prison population, rather than promoting the construction of more prisons, my gut reaction to a rainy day fund is that rainy day spending would be investing on infrastructure and education today, but I'll give myself some wiggle room on that one until I do more research. his union support seems middling, and he's good and bad on education, getting a lot of money that was lost back into schools, but being a little bullish on privatized education. He's in favor of frakking in California.

I'm not surprised that he, like every single candidate that owes his successful candidacy to the backing of the establishment, is backing the establishment candidate. Why would these people want to change the system when its working for them? When they've put in all this time to have influence within it? And when supporting the establishment's rival could have long and lasting repercussions to their future influence and even their careers? I know Brown went after Clinton hard when he ran against him, and even refused to endorse him, calling him a union buster and some other not nice things, but it looks like he came to jesus and successfully courted the democratic establishment back into the Governor's Mansion.

Anyway, the issue at hand is that people want to make a big thing about a Gubernatorial or Senatorial endorsement of Hillary Clinton, or the fact that Bernie has very few such endorsements, and I will say what I think Bernie is saying: That That's the point! His message is not popular in Washington and high level big state politics, because people who are in a position to change it like the game as it is. Even if they know its broken, they certainly don't want to be kicked out of the game for questioning the calls.
