Based on Past Elections Here, Hil-fans should not get their Hopes up about June 16th

Criticism of Obama went right through the general election into his Presidency. It never stopped. I know because I was one of his biggest defenders. Many like me ended up leaving DU. I'm pretty sure I'm in a minority of people who supported Obama, was vocal about his defense during the GE and his Presidency and now support Sanders where I am now critical of Hillary. I expect the same latitude other long-time DUers were given to criticize the nominee's policies (what are Hillary's again?) as well as their blunders, not only through the GE, assuming she gets the nomination, which is in doubt, but also into her Presidency should it come to that (and lets be honest, I don't think she has a chance in hell).

I also expect Hill fans will continue to criticize Sanders in the same way.

Markos made a big statement about shutting down Sanders folks at DailyKos as well and yet, the top recommended posts there are all about him. So I've seen enough of this in my time to know better. I just don't want anyone to have unrealistic expectations at this point.

Through out this primary season I have found little truthfulness and honesty in the attacks on Hillary. Those kind of attacks will stop.

You won't be able to invent your own facts anymore.

what June 16th is all about. I'm sure I missed something somewhere along the way, since I don't spend that much time on DU. Did Skinner set that as the "STFU or GTFO" (as communicated to me by a certain Clinton supporter) date?

It would be really ironic, if that's so, and she ends up not getting the nomination.

I won't be shutting the fuck up OR getting the fuck out, but I probably will stop talking about the presidential election here at DU. Of course, that just means I'll be talking about it MORE in other places, including the real world.

hillary supporters wont waste the time...if DU wants to ignore there own TOS for what changes on June 16th that is their choice but its doing all of us a disservice if our focus is not on trump. Sanders has lost, nothing worth repeating...

kinda of funny, 2008 I was huge obama supporter, we actively campaigned for him on the road in Florida for a week and I remember the viciousness of the hillary supporters in the primary...I didn't step foot in DU then but was active in PCF...the PUMAs really make the bernie brothers thingy look sandlot

I knew then hillary and bill would do what they can to see obama elected and probably the most responsible for his election victory.....and to me sanders lacks the grace and disposition to give up the limelight and actually support some one else than himself. Im truly praying that I am wrong....but I won't hold my breath.

the real goal is to keep trump out of the whitehouse and retake congress once and for all.....and if we have those here that don't care about what a trump whitehouse will do to america, I truly feel sorry for them.....

I think we are in a great position and no matter how much pissing occurs I still feel optimistic. The downer brigade and their hate really won't dampen my spirits.

Clinton for the win.

"I just don't want anyone to have unrealistic expectations at this point."

We have many pessimists here. It is a function of online boards. I have no expectations that they will do anything but stay extremely negative. Its easier than actually supporting something.

It's really not going to be that bad. Yes, third party advocacy is gone and so are over the top attacks. But it's 4 months and then the election is over.

It is the outright trashing of her and her reputation. Its the BOBs who declare proudly that they won't vote for the Democratic nominee. Its the constant posting of right-wing talking points. Its the hope for indictment.

In short, its behaving in a manner that hurts our chances to beat Trump.

At least that's what I think.

Going into General Election rules before we actually have a nominee is unfair and insulting.
