The one personal bright spot of a Clinton nomination and closing of actual debate

I'll get more of my "real world" work done while DU is in campaign echo chamber mode and the Democrats pivot to plain vanilla policies and a Survivor style personality battle with Trump.

Will be less susceptable to the temptation of setting aside the professional tasks at hand and turning to DU "for a short break" and getting engaged so much.

There are advantages to numbing disinterest in a Presidential race, I guess.

A lot easier to shake the pom poms and yell "Go Team Go" than worry about those pesky issues like survival of the middle and working classes and the poor, the purchase of politics and government by Big Bidness and Wall St. and the obscene concentration of wealth and power that is occurring...not to mention the prospect of PNAC style endless war...etc.

society and the planet.

Not to mention the 30 day pattern seems to be insulting/biting everyone who has a different view rather than adding thoughtful substantive ideas to the discussion. I suppose you have to go with what you've got.

can have a blast fooling themselves that everything is normal.
And I'll tune back in around November to see the sadness and panic when everything we tried to tell people about how much she is unliked comes to light. Of course Bernie supporters will be blamed for it. Kill the messenger.

...I'll be taking a nice, long time-out...returning only to be a complete rhymes-with-witch to the worst of Camp Weathervane's smug, noxious jackasses after Hillary gets her head handed to her in the GE. In the unlikely event I don't get tombstoned, I'll still likely never return (which I'm sure will please more people than it annoys...even among the minority that even notice!).

I'm done with politics, done with the Democratic Party completely. The DNC is thoroughly corrupt. It's completely hopeless. I don't even care who wins in November.

Clinton elected because we think a Democrat matters in the White House. And you are insulting, you know it, we all do. All because you and others didn't get the one you want. There is always the big picture, or one can be so self absorbed it really is all about them.

Over the past month I have been helping a young family member who was hit with a sudden divorce. We worked like dogs cleaning and painting. When it was all said and done the place was finished, ceiling to floor. We finished three bedrooms, one bath, family room and kitchen. The place was transformed. And as I worked I thought about DU and the frustration of having a predetermined winner here. How it impacted the behavior of people. I thought about the election, the process and how many Americans are totally out of the loop on just what is happening here! But as I was thinking I was accomplishing great things. It was a good feeling.

June 16th is my birthday so it is pretty ironic that that is also Hills liberation day. I am pretty sure that my focus will be elsewhere for the duration. If Hill is to be our selected leader there is a lot of work that won't be getting done for the less fortunate. I may as well keep working on fixable problems.
