A senior Democrat senator has told Bernie Sanders he must recognise that "sometimes you just have to give up" ahead of crucial primaries in California and New Jersey next week.
Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid said Mr Sanders should not carry his presidential campaign through to the Democratic National Convention in Philadelphia.
He said the Vermont Senator should realise that "math is math" after the primaries next week, where Hillary Clinton is expected to win enough delegates to effectively clinch the nomination.
He said: "I've never been too good at math but I can figure that one out.

(37,428 posts)Is he unaware that Sanders has already pledged to support the nominee? Is he unaware that Sanders long ago promised to continue his primary campaign into the convention? Is he unaware of why a candidate brings delegates to the convention?
But I guess he is familiar with "sometimes you just have to give up."
