It occurs to me that Obama's conscience must be weighing in on him during his last term in office

Especially when he witnesses the intense love, passion, loyalty, and fervor of the overwhelming crowds of adoring Americans gathering to support Bernie at stadiums and large venues everywhere across this great land of ours... a feeling he once engendered from his adoring masses back when he was preaching a vision of hope for the common man. Obama is an extremely smart and sensitive human being. I'm reasonably sure that he realizes in his heart of hearts that he could have done more to fulfill the promises he originally made to the legion of followers he once inspired. As he watches the passionate fire behind the revolution that Bernie has kindled, how could he not deeply realize that there was so much more he could have done than feed the insatiable greed of the establishment. Sure he had his accomplishments, no one is denying him that. But he is the one who has to live with himself with the knowledge that there really was more he could've done and I'm sure that while watching Bernie pour his heart out to the crowds and really meaning every word when he says he wants to make a better world for every citizen of the USA, it must have a strong and profound effect on Obama's conscience when he thinks of his own legacy. As I watch him now do something towards expanding social security I can almost bet you that we are going to see further developments along this line.

No, actually. His conscience doesn't depend on Bernie at all. MineralMan Jun 2016 #6

and he gives no thought at all to the Sanders fans who have spent the last year trashing his solid legacy as they try to build Bernie up.

I'd vote him a 3rd term if I could.

And he has always risen above and in grace continued to progress forward. It is our angry and discontent society, and really, those masses will turn on Sanders and Trump in a heart beat, as reality settles in.

Obama can handle it. He is solid, he has progressed forward, he has accomplished a hell of a lot.

You might like it if his conscience was bothering him, but it's not. He won't be going under any bus, despite many attempts to throw him under one.
