"A federal judge has ordered the Obama administration to release new emails connected to Hillary Clinton before Democratic convention in July.
In an order late on Wednesday, Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson told the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) to hand over to the Republican National Committee (RNC) whatever records it could as part of an RNCs open records lawsuit on July 11.
After that, USAID will need to consult with the State Department about hundreds of other pages of documents, which could be released at some point in the future.
The RNC sued the aid agency in March, seeking two sets of communications: those between USAID officials and key former aides at the State Department, as well as those between USAID and private domain names associated with Hillary Clinton, former President Bill Clinton and others including the Clinton Foundation. The effort appeared to be investigating allegations that the former secretary of States family foundation had undue influence on USAID.
The RNC lawsuit was one of several it has filed seeking records connected to Clinton, in a preview of a battle sure to last throughout the general election.
Before the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia, USAID has claimed that it has discovered approximately 3,300 pages of records that it might be able to hand over to the Republican Party organization. But roughly 2,600 of those reportedly need to be cleared with the State Department before they can be released.
In her order on Wednesday, Jackson said that USAID should release to the RNC what it can by July 11, and determine a schedule for releasing the rest."

About a week, maybe two?

(29,181 posts)They need to "release what they can" by this date. So the State Dept has control over what they approve for release. Hmm. Wondering how much screening will happen... This isn't the State Dept's independent IG making the call, as with that report.

(18,115 posts)If HIllary was being honest (cough, cough) when she said she turned over all State business emails before destroying what was left, any State documents have already been released and any remaining with USAID are Hillary's personal business.
Of course, we know what she said isn't true. Most bad news for HIllary and Dems.

(8,175 posts)I'm not saying it isn't true, but maybe it's not really an issue to democrats...only republicans who are determined to find a way to attack Hillary, even if they are farting in the wind.
I mean, yeah, I'm not sorry they will have access to these e-mails if they can glean anything of value from them (reveal any real wrong doings of Hillary or the foundation), but until they do, is this really something to bring here?
To me it's just wishful thinking at this point. The republicans have already shown they will drag anything through the dirt (like Benghazi) over nothing valid.
