as is sycophancy.

I'm afraid this will not change in my lifetime or ever.

When ethical candidates like Bernie Sanders are vilified and golems get revered, I despair.

It's who you know and who you blow.

You have to have connections to get a job, and I was friendly to people, but wasn't in the in-crowd for some reason. Qualifications and education and competence got me nowhere, and I was a college bum. Loved school, loved college.

I didn't know anybody and I didn't blow anybody.
