Related: About this forumIf Hillary Gives More Speeches Like Today, She Will Elect President Trump!
Here is the word cloud for her speech today.
She's not going to win against trump if she keeps iterating American President Donald Trump (nuclear).

(247 posts)it is so unbecoming and reflects poorly on your candidate.

(25,816 posts)It's really strange, those who say not voting for HRC is a vote for Trump do their very best
to alienate Bernie folk. For supporters of a candidate that has already called herself the nominee to
continue to berate the voters she will need is NUTZ.

(10,494 posts)I don't expect Hillary supporters to beg or anything other than to stop antagonizing us. Bernie is going to the convention to do his thang. He wants to try and sway Super Delegates and it will be, admittedly and uphill battle, but assuming she wins they will need us. Stop attacking us unless one of us attacks you!

(26,060 posts)reflects so well on YOUR candidate? It's nothing but pathetic bullshit but I don't see you whining about that, just about how Hillary supporters see through the pathetic bullshit.

A Bernie supporter complaining about civility. Let me find that tiny violin and get back to you.

(8,962 posts)Big time. "Bolshevik Bernie" would be constructed, deconstructed, and eviscerated in much the same manner that Nixon slimed McGovern. And the "math" would show people's taxes doubling to cover "socialized medicine", "Free college tuition for other people's kids", and "welfare for illegals". It's not always the truth that wins campaigns. Skillful use of lies can be far more effective.

(325 posts)The whole Republican primary was about Trump. Each candidate saying Trump this, Trump that, falling to his level and burning out. It would be nice for Hillary to be above all that, otherwise the narrative will still just be Trump, Trump, Trump. Since the Republican attacks didn't stick, I'm not sure if hers will. Honestly I think the best strategy here is to NOT pivot.

(36,063 posts)I really think using language in a stigmatizing way is unbecoming of a presidential candidate.
She's selling fear, and working in the mentally ill. Why does she hate over 1 in 5 Americans?

All you did is illustrate how an ideologue goes through life never adjusting to circumstances.
I may have issues with Clinton but Sanders is clearly not up to the job of POTUS. He can't even run a campaign.

(1,701 posts)It was a good speech that pointed out how utterly unfit Trump is to be president. Her emphasis on foreign policy was necessary; while I don't agree with her basic view of what our foreign policy should be, there is no doubt that Trump would be an utter catastrophe as president on the grounds of foreign policy alone. She was right to point out the importance of our alliances, and that insulting our allies and neighbors, as Trump has done, is stupid and dangerous. She was also right to point out that he is extraordinarily thin-skinned, and does not have the temperament to be president and commander in chief.

(22,336 posts)And that's supposed to mean something? Is this a joke? She was talking about how Donald Trump doesn't would be dangerous as President and how he is wrong for America. Yeah she used those words a lot but it didn't help him.
One analogy might be the game of Scrabble. It's not the individual letters that are drawn so much as how they are constructed into words. And the same applies to words themselves. They can be used to construct a meaningful and effective dialogue, or tossed into a rambling incoherent salad. Guess which major candidate uses the latter approach?
MrWendel
(1,881 posts)drive bys are always entertaining if nothing else.
Zambero
(8,962 posts)Hillary, and Bernie for that manner, are adept at choosing words and using them to great effect. Trump chooses and puts words into a tossed salad that is hard to swallow, let alone decipher. He does have a firm base of support, but the 15-20% or so of voters who fit into the "undecided" category are not likely to be persuaded by a rambling narcissist. Hillary needs to stay the course with this approach. If and when Trump melts down for all to see, it will be lights out for his campaign.
