Fun Super Delegate factoid. There are less than 160 unpledged unpledged delegates left (Original Post) Godhumor Jun 2016 OP
Wrong. 15% of the convention delegates are unpledged super delegates. They may vote for anyone. imagine2015 Jun 2016 #1

There are over 150 unpledged super delegates who haven't indicated a preference for Bernie and Clinton yet.

The remainder of the unpledged super delegates may have indicated a presidential preference as far back as early 2015.

However, these unpledged super delegates are not required to vote for a candidate they indicated a preference for prior to the convention.

They are free to change their opinions and may vote for a candidate other than the one they had indicated a preference for earlier.

That's a factual factoid!

that Sanders has been relentlessly attacking. I'm sure they just can't wait to flip from Clinton to the guy that has been calling them out.

Pledged delegates aren't bound either, but nobody seems to talk about them switching.

When Clinton surpasses 2026 (by a pretty good margin), she'll be the presumed nominee and that's that.

Every single one of those delegates will have an epiphany on the Convention floor, and will switch to Bernie!

So many of Bernies supporters seem to think that
the SDs know nothing about Hillary.
And as soon they see the light or as soon as a poll showing
Sanders doing better against Trump turns up then they'll switch.

Totally leaves out a couple of pretty major points.

One. They already know who Hillary is they've known her for decades
and they've chosen her.

Two. That any poll this far out is going to have any effect at all let
alone cause the SDs to switch to Sanders.

The polls are snapshots. Period.

And yet I keep seeing these arguments made on Bernies behalf like
they're valid positions.

A lot of the BSers act as though the SDs were picked up randomly off the street yesterday, and know nothing about Hillary, the Party, or politics in general.

Needless to say, the blatant hypocrisy of Bernie wanting to overturn the will of the voters by trying to convince SDs - the very people he railed against - to support him now is lost on the average Bernie supporter. They JUST DON'T SEE IT - or pretend not to.
