Is Bernie Sanders going to skydive into his rally tonight?

Is Bernie Sanders going to skydive into his rally tonight?
The Week

Bernie Sanders might be skydiving into his rally in Cloverdale, California, this evening — and no, this is not a drill. Apparently Sanders' staffers told the president of NorCal Skydiving, Jimmy Halliday, that the 74-year-old candidate is being offered a chance to enter the rally at the Cloverdale Municipal Airport in a rather unprecedented fashion.

"I've been told they will run the idea by Bernie. I can't confirm that's the plan. I know that's a possibility," Halliday told The Press Democrat.

Halliday offered that if Sanders does end up skydiving into the rally, "I will personally take him." Halliday has already done a tandem jump with a Sanders campaign team member, and it all went well.

Yeah I dunno. Could be awesome, or it could look like this.

What a bummer: No, Bernie Sanders will not be skydiving into his California rally tonight

Salon

Any hope that Bernie Sanders might skydive into his campaign rally in Cloverdale, California, Friday was promptly crushed by the lamestream media.

“No,” Sanders’ press secretary texted Politico’s Daniel Strauss. “He is not.”

These are the situations where the Secret Service has to step in to protect their protectees from themselves. At best it is tacky pandering, at worst is is putting oneself in an unnecessarily risky situation.

Sigh.

If anything. The stamina Bernie has shown this campaign proves he can take it. Now if he's afraid of hights that's another thing.

There's been plenty of people who thought they were high-speed only to chicken out once the door opens and the light turns.

Sanders has balls of steel. He sleeps on a concrete bed of nails. He brushes his teeth with a hairbrush. He does 94,000 push-ups before breakfast. Then he eats broken glass and rusty nails because it builds character. Before he arrives at the office each day, he builds a home for the homeless and checks on every bird's nest to be sure all is right with Mother Nature's gentlest of creatures.

Or so I've heard.

As Hillary would say about a sensible, civilized healthcare plan, "it's never, ever gonna come to pass."
