11. So much condescension.

So people were scared into rejecting it.

This idea was unthinkable a few years ago and eventually it will be established everywhere. Either that or some kind of security dystopia, since sooner or later most of what we call "jobs" are going to become obsolete. And they should. And either wealth will be shared or there will be social war.

2. That will someday replace the minimum wage. But it's day has yet to come.

Sadly, there will have to be a lot more layoffs due to automation and job exporting before the public will realize that there will never be enough jobs to employ everyone - nor should there be, in a modern high-tech society!

6. I don't recall Sanders ever advocating for a minimum income. Minimum wage- a living wage- yes

But not a minimum income. Could you please provide a link for your claim that Sanders has called for a minimum income for Americans?

Thanks in advance.

7. You are the second person discussing the Swiss vote who is so uninformed as to not know that
Sun Jun 5, 2016, 03:35 PM

Denmark and Switzerland are two very different countries.

By the way what is remarkable is that Switzerland put a guaranteed income measure on the ballot. It is remarkable first because the Swiss are in general fairly conservative by Western European standards, and second because people are seriously discussing what a world without work might mean and how society could restructure to deal with the consequences.

But heck, sadly misplace snark is also fun, sort of.

10. Sweden is not Switzerland, though many Americans get them confused, as we see here.

They are two different countries (not even in the same ballpark geographically, they are far away from each other)

12. So are you going to correct your mistake?

Of course not. You are without shame and have nothing to contribute here.

15. A scummy and lying post survives the challenge.
Sun Jun 5, 2016, 04:00 PM

People just don't get it. This is not a "mistake," it is disinformation. When the OP refuses to correct this "mistake," they convict themselves.

REASON FOR ALERT

This post is disruptive, hurtful, rude, insensitive, over-the-top, or otherwise inappropriate.

YOUR COMMENTS

Here's a chance to punish someone for just posting a flat-out lie and refusing to correct it. Sanders never said we "should be like the Swiss." Switzerland is not Scandinavia. Multiple corrections have been made. The OP has not corrected and disappeared, having committed a hit-and-run post. Don't just say people do this all the time - they should not. It is shameful. It is unnecessary. This isn't about campaigns, it's about a lack of scruples. Jury vote to lock this.!

JURY RESULTS

A randomly-selected Jury of DU members completed their review of this alert at Sun Jun 5, 2016, 12:55 PM, and voted 3-4 to LEAVE IT ALONE.

Juror #1 voted to HIDE IT
Explanation: No explanation given
Juror #2 voted to HIDE IT
Explanation: This kind of stupidity and misinformation doesn't belong here, this isn't BrockUnderground.com
Juror #3 voted to HIDE IT
Explanation: No explanation given
Juror #4 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: then write your objection; have a debate
Juror #5 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: The comments correct the error. Waste of an alert.
Juror #6 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: No explanation given
Juror #7 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: The OP is clearly uninformed (he clearly doesn't know the difference between Switzerland and Scandinavia), but people have the right to post misinformed comments - just as others have the right to call them on it

==============

Sigh especially to the "leave it explanations." There can be no debate with intentional disinformation. And what do we debate? That Switzerland is not Sweden? Comments correcting the error are not enough, because the lying headline remains on the forum. If the OP is clearly uninformed and posts a falsehood, and does not correct the factual error, then the OP becomes a WITTING LIAR.
