OK. So you need a majority to win a two person contest. Right?

If you include super delegates, the magic number is (pledged + super)/2. Hillary wins.

If you exclude super delegates, the magic number is pledged/2. Hillary wins.

Why is anyone even listening to Bernie, never mind reporting about him when he wants the magic number to include super delegates, but he doesn't want super delegates to contribute to Hillary's total?

This is so idiotic I think it might disqualify him to be President.

Bernie is irrelevant. Like trump he slurps up the attention. But only one of them is relevant. The other is like Bill Murray in "What about Bob?"

... to decide to go their own way. So whoever wins in November, we've got to hold the celebration until (dunno the date) the electoral college meets. I've got that right, have I??????

Even if Clinton’s Already Won, A Vote for Sanders Can Help Defeat Trump

. . .

Big wins by Sanders in the June 7 contests – in Montana, New Jersey, New Mexico, North Dakota, South Dakota and the big enchilada in California – will give him the maximum momentum (and number of delegates) to go into the Democratic Convention with the ability to shape the party rules to make the nominating system more democratic – and write a party platform that can help Hillary to defeat Trump in November.

While some warn that a platform written by Sanders delegates would be too radical, the country is in a radical mood. And the ideas Bernie has built his campaign around are hugely popular with the kind of voters Democrats (and Clinton) need to attract in the general election – young people, union members and working-class voters, African Americans, Latinos, and women. Poll after poll (and election after election) throughout the primary season have demonstrated huge support for the issues Sanders has been talking about: reversing economic inequality, big investments in infrastructure and green jobs, the need for a new trade policy, Medicare for all, an end to mass incarceration, and his promise to break up the big banks, for example. These are the messages Democrats and Clinton will need to win the support of Sanders supporters – and the millions of independent and working class voters – they need in order to prevail in November.

Don't get your panties in a bunch just because we're not all kissing Hillary's ring. Have a clue. They're on sale at Hillary's Wal-Mart today 3/dollar.

That's why there's a progressive still in the race. You'll find that our convention is more than a coronation.

Clinton needs 23 to reach 2383 delegates total (pledged + superdelegates)
To reach a simple majority of pledged delegates, she needs 214. Now, there are 694 delegates up tomorrow, so if she takes 214, she will both win by (pledged + superdelegates) and make it impossible for Sanders to win a simple majority of pledged delegates.

Her target tomorrow is 340.

By the time New Jersey finishes, she will be the presumptive nominee because all she needs is 2383. By the time California is done, she will have won a majority of pledged delegates.
