Only 3% would vote for GOP candidate Trump6/06/2016 10:28:00 AM Eastern
A majority of millennial supporters of Sen. Bernie Sanders will vote for his Democratic opponent Hillary Clinton if he pulls out of the race, according to a poll conducted by MTV.
MTV says that 57% of the millennials who say they prefer Sanders say they will vote for Clinton, 22% said they would write someone in, 18% wont vote and just 3% said theyd vote for Donald Trump, the presumptive Republican nominee.

(397 posts)43% of millennials who are Sanders supporters said in June that they won't be voting for her. It's really hard to take seriously that 22% of them are actually going to write in a candidate in November.

(397 posts)didn't think they were supporting George W. Bush in 2000.
But they were, whether they thought they were or not. They didn't think they were supporting the war in Iraq. But they were. They didn't think they were supporting the nominations of John Roberts and Samuel Alito and the Citizen's United ruling, but they were.
I hope none of these morons come back and complain about a President Trump when they did nothing to stop him. Go ahead and write in Bernie Sanders or Noam Chomsky or Jesus or whoever you want. You may feel good about yourself doing that, but you obviously won't be giving a shit about people in this country or around the world that might suffer because we have a Republican administration instead of a Democratic one due to some people who are supposedly liberal completely wasting their vote just so they could give themselves a pat on the back.
If you live in Ohio and you write in Sanders and Ohio gives Trump a victory and he bombs Iran and targets terrorist suspects' families like he says he would, just remember, that blood will be on your hands.

(2,262 posts)you have on your itinerary. If it works for you, great. But it doesn't work for every Democrat. This unwritten myth that every Dem must blindly follow the leaders is one reason we have lost so many to the Independent party. It's that righteous, holier-than-thou arrogance that many people despise.
I live in Washington that has voted blue for years. My family has held positions in the state party and I was a precinct chair. But more and more Washingtonians have become disillusioned by the Democratic corporatist evolution and it needs to stop. That won't happen by going along with the crowd.
I'm a senior and I give a shit about those who come behind me. I fear what my grandchildren will have left after we continually go down the oligarchy yellow brick road. So give the moron name calling a rest. You do what you think is right. But don't you dare tell me what is right for me because you would be fucking clueless on that front.

(4,311 posts)Spoiler alert: I totally voted for him, and have had no cause to regret it so far.
(Actually, the above is not true - I knew all along I would vote for him - I'm a broken-glass Democrat. But if a pollster had called me, I might have been snarky about it; I was so disappointed.)
A summer and autumn of Obama, Biden, Michelle, Warren, and of course Sanders stumping for Hillary, along with Trump becoming ever more unhinged and people picturing him with the nuclear codes, and the vast majority will come around.
The BoBers will have no more statistical or electoral significance than the PUMAs did. Bookmark it - feel free to come back here and mock me in November if I'm wrong.

(4,311 posts)If the majority of Bernie supporters are already on side, and she hasn't even officially won the nomination yet, that number can only go up.
Anyway, what possible liberal convictions could one have that would benefit from Trump as president? I truly do not understand this argument. Hillary might not be what you want. But Trump DEFINITELY isn't. And we lose ALL the progress we've gained so far. You're willing to risk the ACA (which has saved lives no matter how much of a compromise you think it is), same sex marriage, rights for women, minorities, and the disabled, just to stand on your principles?
I am not trying to beat you with the SC stick - I genuinely and sincerely do not understand this position.
Let's say she's all you say she is. A warmongering, corporatist, pro-fracking, neocon who wants to start wars in the ME and protect the banks while screwing over the poor. (Did I get that right?) Trump is STILL worse, and will hurt MILLIONS more people. No one really believes there is no difference between Hillary and Trump. Not in their hearts.
Yes, "the other guy is worse" is not a particularly inspiring reason to vote when you don't like the candidate. Believe me, I didn't vote for Kerry with a song in my heart. But the alternative is SO much worse that my conscience, MY principles, wouldn't allow me to let other people suffer just because I didn't much like the guy with the (D) behind his name.

(6,974 posts)Passionate and dyed in the wool Bernie supporters. However, they are ALL with the exception of a few going to vote for Hillary Clinton no matter what. And as you said, if there are Sanders supporters who won't vote for Hillary as is their RIGHT. Like I say, not every Bernie supporter will vote for Hillary, and some will probably write in Bernie's name or sit this upcoming election out. But going by what MY set of friends tell me, and for them, putting this nations fortunes in the hands of a bigoted, racist, homophobic-leaning malcontent like Trump would spell disaster. I know that if Hillary weren't the Dem nominee and If Bernie were somehow incapacitated, I'd vote for him in a heartbeat over Trump. To have a Pres. Trump on performing on the world stage would be disastrous and embarrassing beyond belief and when we've been together in social settings, us Bernie/Hillary friends & their children have never had one cross word between us I know SHOCKING. Plus, we've never put down each others Presidential candidates. But that's how we roll. Not all Bernie supporters are "hideous" people as I've seen described, and not all Hillary supporters are "hideous" people as I've seen them described. But hey, maybe I'm lucky enough to be around people who understand the "bigger picture," in that if we have a Hillary in the White House for a few years, it will eventually lead to the change that we all want as in getting rid of gross pieces of legislation like Citizens United, while at the same time keeping and strengthening the gains we've fought for and in some cases died for such as in Civil/voting legislation, abortion rights legislation, and a whole host of other extremely important gains we've made via the Supreme Court IE:Marriage Equality Legislation. Can you IMAGINE if Donald Trump got his hands on the Supreme Court and packed it with "activist" justices who have racist, sexist, anti-worker, anti-LGBT mind-sets like Anton Scalia--who Trump says he loves? Who would want to sit back and watch 20-30 or MORE years of great legislative gains we've made over decades and quite recently wiped out in a matter of 4 years which is what COULD happen if Trump had the Senate at his disposal, as they'd "rubber-stamp" every Scalia-type appointee Trump would send up for a conformation hearing. As for the Congress. Many who are are certifiable, and that's putting it mildly. I mean, look at the likes of a Louie Ghomert for starters, and we've seen Ted Cruz's handiwork up close and personal in the primaries and we know he would love to shut down the government.
Lord, truly a house of horrors and extremely scary indeed, and most of my friends and their children who are Bernie supporters want ANY PARTS of that nightmare from HELL scenario if they can help it
