Hillary Clinton wore a $12,495 Armani jacket during a speech about inequality

Hillary Clinton took a lot of flak on Monday after a report surfaced that the presidential candidate wore a Giorgio Armani jacket worth more than $12,000 during a speech in April about inequality.

Clinton, who was well-known for her vast pantsuit collection, has upgraded her wardrobe during her most recent bid for president to appear more relatable, according to the New York Post.

Social media users don't seem to be buying it, however.

Their clothing must be old, never new -- at least that is true for women. It's infinitely better if True Dems simply wear sackcloth and ashes, though, instead of suits or dresses. Except for women. Women shouldn't wear suits at all, because -- because -- I don't know. I've been wearing them since probably 1972, though not exclusively for most of that time because when I was younger I still had good looking legs.

But I digress. Sackcloth and ashes. Small carbon footprint. All things I learned at DU about how to tell who is and is not a True Democrat.

Hillary Slams Edwards over $400 Haircut

Hillary Clinton did not hold back words when asked about the latest controversy surrounding the current front runner for the Democratic Party's nomination, John Edwards, at a campaign stop in Bristol, Pennsylvania last night.

"John Edwards' decision to pay $400 for a haircut smacks of liberal elitism.", Clinton told the jubilant crowd, "If John Edwards thinks that the average Pennsylvanian is going to spend $400 in a trendy hair salon, it is pretty clear that he is out of touch with Pennsylvanian voters".

Clinton had made an appearance at a local discount hair salon the day before where she received a haircut and shampoo, and paid $8 for the services. While her hair was being cut by the stylist, Clinton remarked that when she had been a little girl, her grandfather used to cut her hair "for free".

The Clinton campaign is expected to release a new TV ad depicting angry Pennsylvanian voters reacting to the news about John Edwards' pricey salon visits.
