2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumIf Hillary's supporters are like me. I can't see them passing up an opportunity to vote for her
tomorrow. Her older supporters understand her history; the hurdles and obstacles; the derision; the daggers; her perseverance through it all. And her younger supporters are witness to the continuation of the kitchen sink opposition
After all she has gone through--all the work; all the outreach; all the challenges; events; meetings and regimens--the very least we can do is get up tomorrow and vote. I am in Illinois, and I envy all of you who have the opportunity to put Hillary over the top tomorrow. The AP can't take that milestone. She will cross that 2026 threshold because she worked, and the voters were impressed.

(6,937 posts)is 2026 pledged delegates out of the 4051 allocated in the primaries. That is the direct corollary to the voters' support of a candidate. The supers are a measure of a candidates support within the party.
I never mixed the two when I did my summaries of the primary voting and state of the race.

(30,247 posts)Most folks have to work tomorrow. I'm a night owl and probably will watch the results at home until 1 or 2 AM to see the results of some of the other states.

(4,311 posts)I did not like that APA announcement; it hurts Hillary more than it hurts Bernie re: voter turnout, and anyone who thinks Hillary somehow strong-armed the media and arranged this is crazy.
