2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumWashPost: Sanders to retreat back to Vermont tonight
Lets assess where we are after tomorrow before we make statements based on speculation, the Vermont senator said Monday at a news conference here, when asked whether he is willing to endorse rival Hillary Clinton in the coming weeks.
Well be in L.A. tomorrow night and well be taking a plane back to Burlington, he added, when asked for further specifics on his schedule.

(18,115 posts)There is one vote left one week from today. Going to VT at this point doesn't mean much. The man needs a break regardless.
DCBob
(24,689 posts)then he doesn't have a moment to spare. That's a huge task.. he has no time to go home for a break.

(18,115 posts)You expect him to go door to door? Lol.

(68,469 posts)They concluded that he would continue to 'run' into the convention...and the grownups said no Bernie ...go to your room. He will convince no one. And I don't think he gets the VP slot either.

(68,469 posts)However, money rules might come into play here...how can he spend money on a campaign that has been called?

Bernie did much better than I thought he would do. It was a great campaign, and a great race. No shame in how it is ending. I long ago expected Hillary to win the nomination. The people have spoken, and the majority of those that voted in the DEM primary voted for Hillary. Nothing wrong with that. That's democracy.
DCBob
(24,689 posts)He and his supporters have done what no one predicted could be done. Its a good sign for the future of politics in this country. I hope Hillary and her team can tap into some of what Bernie has done. It will be good for everyone.

(62,269 posts)...attacking Clinton supporters. Simple logic. Even if you don't directly attack him, you're attacking him.

(34,845 posts)I really don't think he understood what he was getting into. It was ludicrous from the start to think he would be the nominee when he didn't even have the support of his co-workers.

Maybe he just needs to finish preparing his taxes.
