2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumAm I the only person wishing for a Clinton/Sanders ticket?
I actually think they'd be better together then either alone.
She's more nerdy: he's more inspiring.
He's more gutsy: she's more cautious.
She's got the details: he's got the vision.

(110,159 posts)and I do not see Sanders capable. He would cause chaos, as seems to be what he does best. If I were a boss not a chance in hell I would hire someone whose every turn is to cut me short.

(13,598 posts)I also think that it's unlikely to happen, and that Sanders probably isn't the best choice of running mate for Clinton.

(819 posts)HRC is symbolic for Third Way Corporatism. That has to get confronted and taken out.
We need to elect more Sanders and Warrens in House and Senate and correct dark campaign financing.
Putting him beside her would be like immersing soap in a mud vat.

(3,146 posts)I'd rather mix roast beef with lime sherbet and relish.
He considers her to be a corporate scumbag. Wouldn't work.

(23,156 posts)and he's been making that quite clear for a year now. He'd have to severely compromise himself to run with her. I hope he's more ethical than that.
And, this is not the way party politics work. Otherwise, she'd have been VP these past eight years.

And I'm not saying he'd be an idiot like Princess Dumbass of the Northwoods. I would expect him to continue to push things that wouldn't sound right with him saying yes to a VP slot from Secretary Clinton.

(4,858 posts)...Dukakis/Bentsen, Gore/Lieberman...or for that matter--Dewey/Warren, Ike/Nixon, Goldwater/Miller, Reagan/Bush, Bush/Quayle, McCain/Grifterella...or even Lincoln/Andrew Johnson, or Jefferson/Burr. Are any of these unlikelier than Hillary/Bernie? Unifying warring elements of the party is as old as American history. The horrified, self-righteous reactions of some on this thread makes me happier than ever that GDP will be gone with the wind in just a few more days...I voted for Sanders, by the way, if that matters, which it doesn't...
