2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumI don't care how many supers Bernie hasn't flipped today.
Supers don't vote today.

(34,845 posts)It relates to likelihood. Statistical odds. Does no one in the Sanders campaign know math?
This current snapshot is not likely to change. Has it ever changed this late in a Primary? That should tell you what you need to know.

(1,182 posts)But you'd better straighten up if you think snide bullshit like that is going to benefit you in the GE. You're in a big hurry to call yourself a winner, so act like it.
Just some friendly advice.

(34,845 posts)And I know that's uncool to say but I truly don't mean any insult by it, it's just that neither one of our candidates seems as fluid, as vibrant as Obama, and I kind of got used to him.
But...math. Probability statistics. Clinton is clearly our next President. We should be celebrating the extreme likelihood that Trump is about to detonate inside the GOP cave and Clinton will help bring us closer to controlling Congress.

the message.
Hes kinda like the nerd in every TV show, who always asks out the hot chick, always get
rejected, but keeps asking.

(36,649 posts)it requires that the SDs are lying when they say they support Clinton. There's no evidence that's the case. Therefor it's perfectly reasonable to include them in the delegate totals.
It's not a "straw man" just because you can't present valid argument against it.
hellofromreddit
(1,182 posts)You're still arguing against a claim I never made. That's why it's a straw man.
FWIW, I don't think Bernie actually plans to go about flipping supers. He's keeping the campaign running until the convention and pointing out a possible avenue of success (no matter how small) is a part of that. I certainly don't expect a bunch of supers to flip--establishment democrats have shown time and again that they'll circle the wagons no matter what. This time is no different. Maybe if the mythical FBI indictment comes down they'll flip, but even then I seriously doubt it.
But as I said in my OP, I don't really give a shit today. I'm simply pushing back against the tide of garbage the trolls are spamming this place with.
baldguy
(36,649 posts)That's Sanders' plan. And it's based on lies told by Sanders.
Unfortunately for him, the world will go on in spite of his lies.

(36,649 posts)1) Sanders' Grand Strategy to steal the nomination from Clinton is to get SDs to flip their support to him.
2) As each of the links you so graciously provided indicate, he has so for been entirely unsuccessful in doing so.
3) The whole argument that "SDs don't vote until July 26, so no fair counting them" is based entirely on the presumption that they will flip. And is total bullshit, because of point #2, and he's not likely to flip any in the next month since he has nothing to offer them.
Sanders lost. Time to put your big kid pants on & deal with it.

(36,649 posts)She flipped at least one, which is one more than Sanders. And puts the lie to your post.
Vattel
(9,289 posts)You know, the same thing that all you Clinton supporters are complaining about Sanders doing. She was trying to flip superdelegates after Obama had clinched the majority of pledged delegates.
baldguy
(36,649 posts)Clinton has won by any metric you'd care to look at. Sanders has lost by every metric you'd care to mention.

And yes, Clinton will win because she will get a majority of the delegates.
baldguy
(36,649 posts)Or, more accurately "won" since it regards something that has already occurred & is finished.

None.
Stannis Baratheon is more likely to sit on the Iron Throne than Bernie is to being the Democratic nominee.

It just isn't going to happen and that will be made known soon.
