(58,785 posts)No matter how misguided, the anxiety sounds genuine.
I live in the Bible Belt, where people see signs that we are in End Times everywhere, but they at least believe they will be Saved. Political "end-timers" don't have that comfort.
Psychologists say that a pattern of people with extremist political traits is to believe we are (recurrently obviously) on the brink of disaster that only their candidate or movement can save us from. We're watching this fear play out.

Just remember, she beat Bernie. Spin it anyway you want, but she still beat Bernie.

(1,214 posts)This election was not fair or impartial. DWS won't run the general election, so unfortunately it's drumpf's to lose.
metroins
(2,550 posts)Hillary has everything going for her against Trump.
She handily defeated Bernie, there is no rational reasoning to think Bernie would be a better candidate.
That Guy 888
(1,214 posts)Sure their is. When she attacks drumpf almost all of her attacks could be said about her as well.
metroins
(2,550 posts)I didn't know Hillary insults judges because their parents are Mexican.
The voters chose Hillary Clinton to be our nominee and presidential contender. She defeated Sanders, she'll defeat Trump.
I guess the biggest thing giving me confidence is her campaign organization. She had Sanders beat back in March all due to strategy.
That Guy 888
(1,214 posts)She won because of her backroom negotiations with the supers, name recognition, largely favorable press and having her former campaign head run the election all of which don't help her so much in the general.
As far as drumpf goes I'm talking about attacks on his credibility, flipping on issues, things like that. I don't pay much attention to the Clinton anti-drumpf campaign, but I did see a few pot-calling-the-kettle-black attacks that could be easily turned back on her.
metroins
(2,550 posts)She and Trump are two different people. You can point to SCOTUS if you're looking for a major difference.
All races tighten up, she will be neck and neck with Trump in October. A ham sandwich and a Volkswagen would be neck and neck if they were running.
Bernie couldn't win the Democratic nomination, Hillary did. The voters chose.

Nope, nothing from upright to grand.
If you mean metaphorically, it's still no. It's not like I'm asking you to promote fracking here and around the world, a new cold war with Russia, TPP and H1-B visa increases, blind loyalty to conservatives in Israel, more war in the Middle East, or a loss of freedom here in the US, while proclaiming it liberal/progressive.

(13,218 posts)Made to lighten the mood which seemed to be a little contentious. Your screen name is That Guy plus 888, so I started by saying on a side note which was supposed to be a hint. Then I said are you "that guy" with the large piano (one that had a lot more notes than the normal 88), Big joke, ha ha. OK I enjoyed it even if the joke was on me and nobody got it.
That Guy 888
(1,214 posts)I know nothing about pianos, and thought it was a reference to "that guy that wants you to help him move".

(9,748 posts)That exact phrase appears verbatim in a report by the FBI. The FBI observed that the propaganda attack on Bill Clinton bore the earmarks of Soviet Cold War anti-American propaganda. So they decided to investigate it to see if Russia was on the attack.
The investigation ended with their conclusion that the propaganda was a domestic "vast rightwing conspiracy" and thereby outside the FBI's concern.
I don't know if the report gave a reason for its similarity to Soviet propaganda. But it is no secret that the Arkansas Project employed a lot of former CIA propaganda warriors.
A lot of people have tried painting Hillary as "paranoid" over this statement. But she did not coin it. The FBI did.

Despite all of Hillary's dents, dings and fracture in her armor, some Dems (and only Dems) think she is the best candidate.
You are right, Dems just committed political suicide by just about nominating someone the majority of America not only hates but sees as a sell out, corrupt, paid for, propped up by big money puppet.
Congrats Dems for basically nominating a candidate who is under an FBI investigation. That's a first too.
