Hillary supporters, you won so maybe you stop any insults at this point.....

It will heal this place quicker and then the Bernie fans who want to cause issues will be banned anyway.

You won, trump is the goal now, insulting Bernie fans or insulting Bernie does nothing to help.

It's time to build a people's movement to end unemployment and poverty; avert climate catastrophe; build a sustainable, just economy; and recognize the dignity and human rights of every person. The power to create this new world is not in our hopes; it’s not in our dreams — it's in our hands.

That's double what Nader got in 2000. Number is 7% among the Independants so hated by conservadems. Her numbers are growing, as BoB picks up momentum... So you have a tough chore ahead. Hillarians not helping their candidate at all, but I'm sure Jill appreciates all they're doing to send voters her way.

Both major parties running candidates very disliked by majority of voters. That indicates a low voter turnout, and minor parties doing well as a percentage.
Also, Stein has been reaching out effectively via FB to the BoBers. Many who were going to write in Sanders are now talking about going Green.

Most of the Hillary supporters have always said they'd vote for Bernie if he won, unlike the Bernie supporters who swore they'd never vote for Hillary.

I understand that it's really tough to lose and that it's best to give everyone some time and space to adjust. It has taken me some time in the past. I think Hillary will be a gracious winner and will reach out to Bernie in a way that will make him understand that he has done a lot in this campaign to make people more aware of the issues we face.

I am sure Bernie will continue to be an important part of the party if he wishes to be.

Bernie is the one that is keeping this going.

He needs to go on TV and thank America and all voters for the opportunity, acknowledge he lost fair and square (end the conspirary theory BS), endorse her and only then will it start to close the fracture that's developed.

albeit not perfect.

You just proved my point. Count your posts or proportion of your posts that are nothing been hostile to others and zero content.

I have tried to stick to issues but to me Clinton has severe character issues (and won't be the first POTUS like that).

Some folks (on both sides) seem to exist to mock and demean.

I have my reasons to not favor Hillary Clinton that pre-date Sander's quest and that have nothing to do with Sanders.

I have been a loyal and voting Democrat party member for about 45 years and don't intend to change.

I don't remember any politician ever getting that much emotional investment from his followers. The fundraising success with only small donations is mind boggling. I can understand why his followers would take this hard. They did way better than predicted.

I hope those who have left will come back. They would be a terrific asset and have much to contribute to the conversation too.

Being the Presumptive Nominee or the Nominee does not automate respect. Sorry...it doesn't. You just have to see the posts about Trump on this site to see that being a Nominee means nothings. If we can make fun of him then I guess they can make fun of our nominee.

It is sad that we can't be grown-ups and just use his crazy policies or words to show he is not fit.

I don't respect Trump and I am sure you don't either. So there is no automatic respect.

Hell I didn't respect Bush when he was President I did recognize he was the president and didn't call him names...but man it was tough.

Both candidates have supporters who are jackasses. All candidates do. Expecting one side to play nice when the other is still posting crap from the Gateway Pundit and the Blaze, claiming them to be legit sources, might be a bit unrealistic.

Also realize that some "supporters" on both sides aren't supporters at all. The most obnoxious ones are also some of the more obvious, on both sides. For them, calls for unity are going to fall on deaf ears, because unity is the last thing they want.

50. To the Bernie Sanders supporters
Wed Jun 8, 2016, 01:27 AM
Jun 2016

1) My support of Hillary Clinton does not mean I or most of us bear you ill will. I agree with the OP - it's time to tone it down.

2) Bernie Sanders fought well, and I think the impact of his campaign, like Howard Dean in '04, will last well into the future.

3) If you are one of the Bernie supporters who is angry with the DU community right now - I get it. I've been there. If you feel you must leave, my advice is take a break and stop back by around the holidays. Even those of you I've had battles with, I will be sorry to see go.

4) In the DU community sense, some of my longtime friendships have been damaged over this campaign, and I hope that can change in the coming years.

5) I want to say this about yesterday's AP announcement: if I were in your shoes, the day before a make-or-break primary, I'd be pissed too. That said, I don't think Hillary Clinton controls the media -- as much as I sometimes wish she did. I have three other possible explanations that I think are valid:
a) AP simply wanted to scoop everyone and declare a winner, so they canvassed the SDs
b) Conservatives that do control media outlets like NBC released the story to advance Hillary's cause while simultaneously sowing discord among Sanders supporters. The reasoning being that angry Sanders supporters are less likely to support Hillary if so angered.
c) Conservatives that do control the media outlets like NBC released the story to advance Hillary's cause because many of them are quietly concluding that four years of Hillary may be preferable to four years of Trump.

6) #NeverTrump
