2016 Postmortem

He has no path towards the nomination
It's over
The longer he stays in the more riled up his followers will become, and when he finally does drop out they will be bitter and I fear a lot will vote Trump to punish the party and out of spite.

(3,111 posts)to harness that power, they would be smart to deal with Bernie and I am sure he can be worked with.
If they choose to do their usual tricks, then they don't deserve that vote and may very well not get it.
It would all be so very easy if the Democratic Party was really half as "Progressive" as the Hillary folks like to say.

YOU GUYS fucking won. Stop gloating and rubbing salt in wounds so deep that we may never recover.
You are not helping at all and you are certainly not winning over voters to Hillary.
The speech tonight was loud and clear - I am getting ready to get out and we have to remember we have some serious work to do for the next election cycle.
We all know there is no path to nomination...but we are fighters and the battle is not over till every citizen has the opportunity to vote.
YOUR candidate did it in 08 and so it is okay to do now....
Go party somewhere and celebrate and stop this silly silly bleating.

There is only one candidate that stands for us. It isn't the presumed nominee.

(37,157 posts)Either Sanders' supporters are a necessary part of the Democratic coalition, or they're not.
If you think they're not, then don't blame them for failures.
If you think they are, act like it. Do what's necessary to bring them on board.
If you really think they're the type of people who will get bitter and vote for the Howler Monkey, why do you think telling them to shut up and sit down, chop chop, won't make them just as bitter?
