2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumBernie the egomaniac?
For HRC and large part of the Democratic party, she was preordained to win the nomination the day she announced her candidacy. It did not matter who would be running against her, Sanders or anyone else. The only way she wasn't going to win is if President Obama could've run for a third term.
Sanders was a villain since the day for daring to challenge her plans. Of course, back then nobody expected anyone else to have even a remote chance against HRC. It wasn't until it became clear the race would last beyond the first few primaries that the pitchforks started coming out against Sanders for not sticking to the script.
Highly amusing how he is considered the egomaniac.. for not 'knowing his proper place.' Then again, he is also considered the sexist, though he isn't the one who pledged at least half his cabinet would be made up of women. He is also considered the hypocrite, though he isn't the one who claims to be a champion of the poor while giving expensive speeches to Goldman Sachs and the rest of the 1%.

(6,282 posts)You're making that Politico story into much more.
It's obvious why you're doing that however. Facts and truth are unimportant to HRC followers.

(2,280 posts)Nobody preordained anybody. If you think that, look at 2008. That time Obama got more votes. This time Hillary got more votes. Nobody villianized Bernie anymore than they villianized Obama last time. Bernie just didn't have the right stuff. Obama did. And this time, Hillary did.
And because the voters chose someone else, Bernie's proper place now is as the dude who lost the primary. And like everyone else who loses primaries, including Hillary in 2008, that means endorsing the winner and joining forces to beat the GOP, which this year is mroe dangerous than ever.
And if he doesn't do that, then yes, he is an egomaniac.
