I have wanted a woman to be president for a very long time, but Hillary Clinton's presidency would be a pyrrhic victory. A sad day because of what she represents.

"A Pyrrhic victory is a victory that inflicts such a devastating toll on the victor that it is tantamount to defeat. Someone who wins a Pyrrhic victory has been victorious in some way. However, the heavy toll negates any sense of achievement or profit. Another term for this would be "hollow victory".

As a woman, I'm celebrating the hell out of this day. But there's obviously more work to be done. You can shit on the accomplishment, but it doesn't change the symbolism for millions of women and girls.

and as a lifelong feminist it makes me sad. Because it is based on the wrong assumption that the first woman president can only do as bad or worse than her male predecessors (ie. "safe&quot .

I am very worried about the future for all the young women and girls of today. And I'm worried for the young men and boys as well. Symbolic victories are not all that matter. We all will have to live with the consequences of a sadly symbolic victory. That doesn't even help Hillary Clinton in the end.

Higher when she starts more intervention wars or shoot, just hits Iran. Woman loves war! Loves manipulating the scenes. I think she's a sociopath; certainly a narcissist. As a woman, she makes me absolutely sick to my stomach. Women and men do normally think and act differently. Having a woman should make an easy sell for less war, more access to great education for free, making work pay since many women are having to work for their family's survival and a raise is needed, reall affordable access or single payer health care... When she acts/ runs/ speaks all tough like "male" politicians and pushes for a "male" society agenda by taking the political donations of the establishment (which are all old white men), then she does nothing for me. In this case, shocking I know, Bernie is the feminist better for women and their families!

I'm also not stupid. I know Hillary has "won" the nomination. Great, good for her. I'll be damned if I work or even speak in favor of voting (and at this point may not vote for her). Does anyone now know anyone who admits to voting for Bush? Nope, I don't. I have a very strange feeling many won't admit to it either if her talk about more military intervention is her idea for saving face on the economy that is about to hit another recession.

I'll keep on working on progressive issues like I always have. So yes, I will keep trying to make things better. I suppose if I got an amazing job offer for work in Europe somewhere, I'd jump at a minutes notice. I have very fond memories.
