Bernie needs to let go.

He did something extraordinary. He brought back a progressive movement into mainstream American politics. But the campaign is over. He needs to transition, first by getting his followers to understand that the primaries are over and it is important to support the nominee.

If he doesn't do that, it will become obvious that his running as a democrat was a sham and he only used the party as a vehicle to run for president. I hope that isn't true and that he is able to do the right thing.

has caused real harm. ie. it is rigged, it's not fair... he worked hard at trying to rile up his supporters and he has brought many of them to a very angry place... for NOTHING.

I appreciate that yours is more gracious than many of the others, but we really don't need another thread calling for him to end the campaign. He will do so when he is ready. He did not criticize Hillary in his speech last night and I doubt he will from here out, so I don't know what you are all so anxious about.

You won! Congratulations! Enjoy it and quit worrying about Bernie.

Just now on MSNBC, Chris Jansing reported that Bernie rebuffed the press with him and walked away refusing to talk. She was on the plane with him and reported that they were still going over the numbers in California. When she asked "Does that even matter?" - there was no answer. She got the message that Bernie can't say goodbye. He needs to step up, not just for the party and the country, but also for himself. Sometimes moving on is a gift we give to ourselves.

The "message" from the campaign is clear. No decisions are being made for at least a few days -- and probably not until after the last primary in DC.

It's time for the press and party "leaders" to pay attention to the "message" that has already been "sent." It's time for them to stop with the premature reactions to a decision that is in the process of being made; stop badgering him about what he's gonna do; and stop making declarations about what he "has to" do. They'll have plenty of time to applaud or lambaste him for his decision after he has actually made it in a week or so.

In the days leading up to the California primary, aides to Sanders said that the senator was planning a rally in D.C. ahead of its primary-the last on the calendar-and would spend the next few days considering what his options are and preparing for the convention. link

He doesn't need to do it today or this week or next week, or even the week after that. Before the convention, even the day before or the day of, is fine by me.
I believe Bernie will concede at some point, endorse Hillary and even possibly speak at the convention. DEMs will be united from the convention to the election and they will give it their best shot at defeating Trump.

myself a member. If you did not support him, you truly do not have a say in what he "should" do. You can react to what he does in whatever way you want, as so many Hillary supporters have done already, mostly in ways that don't flatter them or anybody. But you cannot dictate what he does, as much as Hillary supporters seem to want to dictate for others on a regular basis.

I am urging Bernie to keep going for as long as he thinks is responsible in order to effect real change, in the world and in the Democratic Party.

The values that so many Democrats seem to support today are barely recognizable when put against traditional Democratic Party values, and I am only one person who thinks this has to change or there is no use for a Democratic Party.

I want Bernie to continue for just as long as he thinks it is wise to continue. He is a fighter and a tough negotiator. I wouldn't have it any other way.

The fights for single payer, $15hr min wage, against TPP and for Social Security will continue. The fight to overturn Citizen United and balance the SCOTUS will continue. Those are all bigger than Hillary or Bernie.
