AP warns reporters to be safe after harassment from Sanders fans

June 08, 2016, 08:35 am
By Jessie Hellmann

The Associated Press is warning its reporters to stay vigilant after several received harassing messages from supporters of Democratic presidential candidate Bernie Sanders.

Danny Spriggs, the AP's vice president for global security, said some reporters have received angry emails, social media messages and phone calls after the AP declared Hillary Clinton the presumptive Democratic presidential nominee.

What sort of moron would go to Elizabeth Warren's social media and criticize her because she didn't endorse Bernie Sanders? Hypocrites that who.

They've stopped telling the truth about him. It could work again.

They do not represent Bernie supporters.

Stay safe even AP reporters.

This is not just stupid, it's counter-productive. Do they want to shred what influence Bernie still has? Do they want to eliminate his potential for influence over the next 4 to 8 years?

I don't think some people are getting it. Bernie absolutely can not possibly win at this point. It simply can't happen. Behaving in violent or aggressive ways just causes harm to Bernie's image, and therefore to his future influence. It is not at all helpful.

Many of them want Bernie to make a third party run with the Greens or on his own. So to disrupt the dem convention would be a good thing in their eyes.

...it would seem this is serious enough for candidates to confront and address directly.
