If you're going to commit to being a contrarian, perhaps you should stick to stuff that doesn't make you look ridiculous.

(45,319 posts)the same thing as artists talking about their work. There are actual differences between the two forms, similarities as well. You will never hear a sketch performer call themselves a skit performer, but you will hear them mention that their elderly Aunt says she likes their little skits.
Skit, no script, one point to make and that point is made at the expense of all other things. That point is usually a punch line.
A sketch is a rehearsed and scripted thing, character and even plot play a part and a sketch might not have any actual joke or punch line, it can be all character and setting. Example from Belushi land, the 'Cheeseburger' sketches. Slice of life. Hinges on characterization and careful timing.
The terms and the differences between them go back to Vaudeville. Sketch comics tend to be cheesed off by the word 'skit'.
What do you do for a living?

Oh, and no entity is more likely to object to your use of their material than SLN.
