It also depends on the state and their process for filling seats.

some things I'll never forgive him for, unfortunately old. Obama respects him so he probably learned not to be too accommodating and squishy on policy, or maybe the GOP just moved far right beyond anything even he could find commonality with, but still. Where's the suggestion of the change people want?

He'd be an awfully nice guy to have living next door, if he were ever home, but she can do better.

and it has two Democratic senators (Al Franken and Amy Klobuchar) and a Democratic governor, Mark Dayton. I'm not necessarily suggesting either of those two should be chosen (although both are very good speakers and might go a long way to warm up Hillary's image), but just as an example, if one of them were chosen, Dayton would appoint another Democrat to replace them (maybe even Keith Ellison, which would be awesome). He wouldn't appoint himself; he's already been a senator and almost certainly isn't interested in doing it again.

Anyhow, there are no moderate Republicans in Minnesota. There aren't many Republicans at all, but the ones that are here are not moderate.

That's why you're seeing Kaine high on a lot of lists; Knoblucher and Franken get mentioned, too. Oregon's got a couple of great senators as well.

Or a Dem gov in a state with a Dem lt. gov. I think Hickenlooper and Inslee both qualify.

Biden is a terrible choice though. He and Hillary disagree a lot abot foreign policy, and he won't be mentoring her on teh topic teh way he did Obama. He'd just be irrelevant.

Clinton needs more than a cardboard cut out with DC insider tattooed on his ass.

I'd like to see a younger person of color.

That Biden represents the worst of the inside the beltway democrats. There are just too many issues on which he is to the right of both Clinton and the democratic electorate.

Obama chose Biden because he was a favorite of the DC media. In this election we don't have to play that game.

I don't think people fear change as much as you think they do. If that were the case neither Sanders or Trump or even Clinton would have been as popular as they are.
Each in there turn represents change. The difference with Clinton is that she is knowable. The people understand what kinds of change she represents.

For Obama, he brought experience and the security of being an establishment figure. Hillary does not need those things, that's not an area where she needs shoring up to increase her appeal.
