"The good news for both of them is they have to run against each other. So, in that sense, neither is substantially disadvantaged."

Hillary Clinton should be thankful that her opponent is the reviled Donald Trump. Every day, a different member of his own party says that they can't support him.

Republicans are under 30% of the electorate. Twice that percentage view HRC unfavorably.

But that's still a good point about both likely candidates being viewed so poorly by most Americans. Each has their little core base...and not much beyond.

7. It's been a very long time since either Party had an incumbent President strongly campaigning

for his successor. Bush 2 was worthless, Gore refused Clinton, Reagan endorsed but did not hit the road for Bush 1, and it just goes on like that.
It's been like a hundred years or something.
