I've tried to extend an olive branch several times here...

This discussion thread was locked as off-topic by BooScout (a host of the 2016 Postmortem forum).

but Hillary supporters just do not care about unity. No matter what I concede to, they don't care. I went back on the promise I made to myself to never vote for Clinton just so we can bring the party together and not divide up. I've looked on the brighter side with Elizabeth Warrens and Obamas endorsement of her and told Bernie supporters they should cut it out. But I still get nasty Hillary supporters who come through and flame up tensions. No matter what I do or say, it doesn't matter to some Hillary supporters. So I think I'm going to stop trying to unify with them and just post facts about whatever the current headlines are. If they have a problem with it, it's not going to hurt my feelings. I tried to be civil, and I will still be civil, I just won't tip toe around their feelings anymore.

Not flame bait. I've posted several times trying to help calm tensions. I'm hoping people may reflect on their posts after reading this and start to calm down, maybe. It's getting old. If you guys really want to divide up the party then so be it but I won't be a part of that. And I'm not just talking about Hillary supporters with that statement. It goes for BoB's too.

You don't need to demand unconditional surrender.

And you have no reason to object to concessions or healing.

Nothing in that line can hurt HRC or do you any harm.

when the time for fighting is passing, they find it very hard to 'live and let live'. It's a shame really, but I don't think its representative of most Hill supporters on du. I just think they 'talk' a lot.

in 6 days, the new rules will apply to them as well. Sanders is still a very important elected official in the Democratic Party. They cannot say anything bad about him that is not constructive criticism.

I moved over there to get away from the war. But it didn't work. Emotions out of control. It may hurt Clinton in the long run. I've put my first poster on full ignore.

extend olive branches as well. Some are not behaving well but you know, we can say that easily about both sides.

Do your best to concentrate on positive news. Limit the amount of time you waste engaging with negative people on either side. Reinforce good posts and productive conversations. (like this one!) Avoid rewarding negative behavior by avoiding engagement with negative posters.

No need to let others drag you down with them to their level.

Hang in there. It'll get better.

Those who are like that, are that way all the time. You'll find the same thing in a thread on an issue for instance, or on some other topic. Most who are like that just happen to prefer one candidate.

You can be as civil as you want, it's always the same, as you noted.

I came to much the same conclusion you did, as to what to do. I very rarely reply to them, they can be as wrong as they want to be. As long as the real story is there in a thread somewhere alongside the nonsense, it's up to them to choose it just like everybody else.

It kind of amuses me though: I don't think they understand how little I care if they disagree with me, or even call me names. 100 of them can jump in a thread and do that, and I couldn't care less. It means nothing to me. I go on to the next thread, and it doesn't even bum me out in the slightest.

I will not clear my ignore list. They're pretty much bullies and will keep up bulling when ever they get the chance. You're right they don't want unity. They want to bully. I am still adding a good 3-4 a day to my ignore list. I don't miss them at all.
