Now that I've seen the confirming responses in HCG, I think I ought to share this in GDP. For those who don't read all the replies, the most interesting to me was the explanation that this myth got started many months ago when the NYT reported that she was under investigation. They printed a retraction, but, of course, lots of people never heard about it. Including me...

It says: Rosen also asked whether Obama had ever discussed the Justice Department's investigation with Clinton, who has never been named a target of the probe.

"has never been named a target" != "not a target"

The FBI doesn't disclose these things. The only people outside the DOJ and FBI who know anything I believe are Hillary who could ask the DOJ if she is a target. But we can't really expect a straight answer out of her. So once again we're back to where we were which is she could very well be a target.

13. They don't outright name their targets

I am not sure why anyone would expect that.

But they have given at least one, and possibly two, people immunity/plea deals. That clearly indicates that they are looking at someone up the food chain.

Who could that be? I wonder...

As for why Obama endorsed. He has no other option.

He is not going to say: "I am going to wait and see if she catches the charge".
