It's tough when your candidate loses, and it takes character to accept that defeat without resorting to slander, conspiracy theories, and right wing tropes.

(435 posts)the only caucus I am in favor of is one where you have a week to come in and drop your ballot in to a locked ballot box and the caucus spot is open 10 hours a day including on the week end. If they want to put special questions about party planks etc... fine. Other than that caucuses have to go.
Super delegates have very little power. I am guessing right now the repugs wish they had them to get rid of Drumf.

Republicans creating them and giving them more power.

No surprise there. The establishment squashed the candidate that threatened their way of life. Who would ever think that would happen?

(37,428 posts)But Sanders went into the race knowing it was going to be an uphill battle, and never promised us it would be easy.
That Sanders still has to pretend to be trying to win the nomination to keep campaigning is unfortunate, as the fans of easy answers everywhere will use that as an excuse not to notice what he's really fighting for: influence.
On to Philly!

(19,926 posts)They never discussed issues, just polls and how many votes. The MSM does the same thing. Reports politics as if it's sports reporting. Never compares and contrasts issues, just polling and winning/losing with some scandals and smears thrown in to keep it enticing.

(9,313 posts)There is so much "We won, so shut up" (or "We won, get over it" and so little reflection on the critical lessons that can be learned from this campaign -- lessons the Democratic Party must learn if we're going to become the powerful force for economic and social justice we can be.
The stubborn march forward to the tune of "No we can't" (fight for real economic justice and social justice) is what Bernie supporters are responding negatively too. We are fighting the same beltway group think we've been fighting for decades.
We're tired of being treated like we are some monolithic group of naive conspiracy nuts. The constant "Bernie supporters are (some bad thing)" or "Bernie supporters are (some other bad thing)" is so aggravating. I've run into numerous incredibly condescending and otherwise sort of horrible Hillary supporters, but I know they are not representative of the millions of Hillary supporters out there. Well, there are millions of Bernie supporters out there too. There is no "type."

(19,926 posts)that reduce Bernie supporters to people who resort to "slander, conspiracy theories, and right wing tropes."
Besides, Hillary supporters resorted to those exact same things during the campaign.
- Didn't actually fight for civil rights, is lying about it.
- Policy is only for white males.
- Socialist!!!
- Communist!!!
- He's a Jew.
- Popegate
- Chairgate
- Abusive spousegate
So please get over yourself.
