2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumCan we drop the "Bernie pushed Hillary to the left" meme?
Hillary has always been on the left on many issues... just because you can pick out certain issues that may viewed as being a centrist or to the right (the same way you can do with Obama or 95% of the democrats in the congress), doesn't mean she hasn't always had positions that were to the left.
The main reason Hillary said she didn't need to adopt Bernie's platform is that her policy position on her website (https://www.hillaryclinton.com/issues/) are left wing.
Understandably, in the primaries, we magnify the differences between our candidates, but in comparison to the republicans... hillary's stance to 90% of issues are clearly to the left.

(50,269 posts)Hillary has rarely been on the left of anything and I expect you'll be seeing a fast turnaround on fracking and the TPP if she's elected.

You agree?

(891 posts)Allowing fracking in very limited capacity is not equivalent to being "a strong proponent of fracking." The article doesn't rebut what I said.

she changed her position, most likely because Bernie pushed Hillary to the left. again.

(546 posts)The ACU rates every member of Congress on their votes on issues of primary concern to conservatives. The following is from the ACU's 2014 rankings: "Another interesting fact in our analysis is the stark reminder that Sec. Hillary Clinton is no moderate. While many in the media portray her as more centrist than self-described Socialist Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) or fringe activist Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA), Clintons lifetime rating of 8.13% is within two percentage points from those extremists. And shockingly, all three of these presidential hopefuls are even more liberal than President Barack Obamas Lifetime Rating of 10% from when he served in the U.S. Senate. If America wants a third Obama term, three candidates will not disappoint."
http://conservative.org/acu-releases-2014-annual-ratings-of-congress/
A perfect conservative rating from the ACU is 100. Hillary Clinton voted conservative 8.13% of the time while in the Senate and Barack Obama voted conservative 10% of the time.

(546 posts)Until that person is in office and the partisan composition of both Houses of Congress is determined and we know which ideology is the majority on the Supreme Court. Add to that, world events that are outside the control of any president and the cyclical nature of the U.S. Economy.
It's true. She'll get more rightward-tilted as time goes on. She's no liberal.

If she parroted any of Bernie's positions, that is all she is doing. She will lurch to the far right as soon as faking left no longer suits her.
