With One Non-Answer Bernie Sanders Admits He Is No Longer An Active Candidate For President

Video/More at the link: PoliticusUSA

By refusing to say that he is still an active candidate for president, Sen. Bernie Sanders admitted that his campaign was all but officially over. When asked if he is still an active candidate for president, Sen. Sanders answered:

Well, let me say this. I am doing everything that I can and will continue to do everything that I can to make sure that Donald Trump does not become President Of The United States. I think this man in a dozen different ways is not fit to become president. I think the idea that he is running a campaign based on bigotry. Insulting Mexicans, Muslims, women, itís hard to believe that is really happening in the year 2016. So I am going to do everything that I can to make sure that he is not elected President Of The United States.

I will be meeting with Sec. Clinton on Tuesday evening I believe, and we will be chatting about her campaign, and I simply want to get a sense of what kind of platform she will be supporting. Whether she will be vigorous in standing up for working families and middle class, moving aggressively in climate change, healthcare for all, making public colleges and universities tuition free, and after we have that kind of discussion we can determine whether or not we are going to have a strong and progressive platform I will be able to make other decisions.

1. "Well, let me say this." ... ugh!

His standard preface and intro to every question that he's not going to answer directly. I got so sick of hearing it. But... tomorrow is another day ... I'm a tree, I can bend.

I'm feelin' good from my head to my shoes
Know where I'm goin' and I know what to do
I tidied up my point of view
I got a new attitude

5. "That's a nice little campaign you have over there. be a shame for something to happen to it..."

"...Like someone who received about 40 percent of the primary vote to come out and suggest that they upset your apple cart....Let's talk."

7. What a bizarre response! It sounds like something out of The Sopranos. Weird.

Shit like this is about what I'd expect to hear on this web site. But, enjoy it while you can. Not much time remaining.

Have you marked your calendar yet for June 16th? I have. Are you looking forward to it as much as I am? Just a few more days. It's gonna be GREAT to focus our attention on things that really MATTER!!

Go, Hillary! Beat Trump!

13. Been here since 2001. Been through a lot of water under a lot of bridges.

When DU goes into echo chamber mode I'll fade away for a while because empty echo chambers bore me....Yeah, Clinton will get my "Stop Trump" vote....but nothing more than that.

But Bernie, the movement he represents and I aren't going anywhere in the long run, unless its decided to make DU a permanent echo chamber after the election.

14. I can't tell you how much I'd miss you if you left. But ...

... from what I hear, there are other competing websites toward which many here are migrating. I doubt you'll be "homeless" or isolated for very long, and you'll settle-in somewhere that makes you feel quite content.

Adios!

15. Sorry to disappoint you ....I don't "leave".....Just lower my level of interest and involvement.....

.... and don't bother checking into DU for periods of time. Or just post foolishness in the DU Lounge or vent against the GOP.

21. The goal will be to help her win the election. I guess if someone can't get on board with that ...

... and insists on arguing about the primaries, or doing their best to help Trump, then the admins have signaled their willingness to boot them off the train.

When you say "HRC infomercial" it seems as if you have a problem with this site's policy. I have no issues with the policy and the deadline that's been set. Do you?

18. Right, because we've seen them dump so much money into Sander's campaign, no?

I don't think being bought means what you think it means.

Were there $250,000 speeches at the NRA convention?

20. Yes, the NRA will endorse candidates on the left when they are better on the 2nd Amendment.

That's hardly buying the candidate.

9. I've been voting for 38 years

And this is the first time I have seen a candidate that just can't seem to concede that he lost. Odd.

23. I've been voting for 53 years...

and I'm glad to see a candidate pour everything that he has into a race that he believes in. They (Democrats as well as Republic0ns) have been trying to push Bernie out for awhile now. And, in the end, I believe Bernie will do everything that he can to help Hillary win the election.
