(7,746 posts)YOU were trying to link Bernie Sanders to the FL tragedy to score cheap political points for Hillary and any reasonable reader knows this. That is why I said very Republican of you. What I should have said was very Fox News like of you.
If my loved one had just been killed I would not being debating Clinton and Sanders gun records. Would you?

I'd say its a perfect time to talk about the gun insanity that has America in its deadly grasp.
And Bernie Sanders had a hand in making that possible.
The NRA and republicans are always the ones to say "this isn't the right time" after the latest slaughter of the innocents.

(71,542 posts)Yes again, this is the right time. And with a shift in the court when Hillary gets elected...we might have a chance to stop senseless murder. How does a guy who was accused of domestic abuse and questioned by the FBI for terroristic statements get a gun...or two or three or four?

have to do with guns in America?
Please keep to the issue and not go off on a tangent that does not relate.
Plus,

(18,290 posts)Your intention to post the article in question was to link Bernie to the Orlando massacre.
However, now that it's been established that the massacre was almost certainly ISIS-inspired, Hillary's own deep culpability on the rise of ISIS (inadvertent culpability, I should say, though don't take that as me defending her in any way) is absolutely pertinent to the issue.
itsrobert
(14,157 posts)The release of reliability for gun manufactures has nothing to do with ISIS or Hillary Clinton.

(18,290 posts)Reading your post and the subsequent "yeah, ditto!" congratulatory posts is like watching the Keystone Kops bump into each others' stomachs.
That is Waggaman's own facetious self-written biography blurb for "Russia Insider", gently poking fun at Huffington Post's mini-biography which accompanies his Huff Post pieces. He's a born-and-bred American citizen, a writer currently living in Russia, and writes analysis and opinion pieces.
Does the fact that he's not an inexperienced cub reporter or that he doesn't currently reside within the 50 states make his opinion any less credible?
Take as long as you require to come up a coherent response.

Who knows? Maybe you'll discover that the writers who wrote the piece "aren't living in America", or some other very important bit of distraction:

The fall of Col. Muammar el-Qaddafi seemed to vindicate Hillary Clinton. Then militias refused to disarm, neighbors fanned a civil war, and the Islamic State found refuge."

(833 posts)This shows that nobody is perfect. Or, more precisely, no politician ca%n survive without his or her key constituents. I cannot possibly accept his position on gun; however, that does not negate my respect for some of key issues he addressed and has been supporting
Remember, his and Hillary`s voting records coincide at 93 % rate. We tend to assume that remaining 7%, Hillary is not as progressive as Bernie. Well, at least with gun control, Hillary has been to the left of Bernie`s.
Now, I am also concerned about the motive behind this mass shooting. This is clearly hate crime. However, Trump is already trying to frame this as something related to international terrorism.
Make it very clear that this is the worst hate crime of modern America. I also believe at least we could have prevented this level
of high casualty if certain types of guns were completely outlawed nationally.

(13,390 posts)But I don't see much difference between that and advocating providing weapons to other countries. Wouldn't it serve an anti-gun agenda more consistently to reject the US legacy of international arms dealer?

Get to work ATF and gun-restrictionists.
mythology
(9,527 posts)The NRA and other gun lobbying groups held us without a full director of the ATF for 7 years. Because the NRA is worried about even the tamest of gun control reform, we go through tragedy after tragedy. Fuck the NRA and anybody who supports that worthless organization. From 2013 to 2015 we had a director of the ATF, but when that guy resigned, the NRA's bought and paid for members of Congress have again not allowed a full director.
aikoaiko
(34,214 posts)None of the "tamest of gun control reform" would have little or any impact on the mass shooting tragedies.
Maybe Hillary will "get things done"

(11,945 posts)There has been massive cheating for months, always in her favor. Funny how that happens. Own it.
The night before the six primaries that would have brought them even, the AP declared Hillary the winner. The AP does not decide our elections. It was a deliberate act of voter suppression to push it through. Own it.
She does not have the requisite votes. She has not won.
And this is why her surrogates are still beating up on Bernie Sanders.
White Tara, I am so glad that I am not on the same side as you.

(31,258 posts)than dirt.
The rules for the 2016 race are the same as the race 2008 and for many years before. In 2008, Sanders declared his vote for Obama before the convention and told Clinton to get out of the race.

(4,762 posts)now is not the time.
You're using this tragedy to score points in a contest that Clinto has already won.
On behalf of Clinton partisans and strong anti-gun folks (I got banned from RKBA) I say let this go. Bernie is not nearly among the really bad politicians on gun control. He ain't great but it's not relevant right now.
