Wikileaks co-founder Julian Assange warns more information will be published about Hillary Clinton, enough to indict her if the US government is courageous enough to do so, in what he predicts will be a very big year for the whistleblowing website.
Expressing concerns in an ITV interview about the Democratic presidential candidate, who he claims is monitoring him, Assange described Republican presumptive nominee Donald Trump as an unpredictable phenomenon, but predictably, given their divergent political views, didnt say if he preferred the billionaire to be president.
Snip.
Speaking via video link from the Ecuadorian Embassy in London, Assange said that there was enough information in the emails to indict Clinton, but that was unlikely to happen under the current Attorney General, Obama appointee Loretta Lynch.
SNIP
Clinton has been acting like the presumptive Democratic nominee even though votes are still being counted in California after the June 7 primary, Sanders flipped three counties in his favor, and nine superdelegates have dropped the former New York senator

We actually owe a great deal to Assange, and I was sorry to learn how mentally...off he is. Of course, maybe it's likely he wouldn't have done what he did if he wasn't. The Ecuadorean embassy is no doubt infinitely more comfy than an official prison, in any case, and imo his trumpish comments about their female ambassador are very unfortunate.

(82 posts)Show me where it says she would have to drop out of the race? I don't see that under presidential qualifications for office in the Constitution. Jus saying. She cannot only become President, she can pardon herself as far as I know.

(12,958 posts)Running a presidential candidate under those circumstances would be political suicide.

(491 posts)I believe he was under investigation at the time of election and forced to resign shortly afterwards rather than facing impeachment.
I will be so surprised, though, considering his speech and Harry Reid's, about the Justice Dept and how "no one is above the law". Those speeches were on many cable shows.

(6,048 posts)makes no sense. Even if Sanders won California Hillary would STILL be the presumptive nominee. So much bull.

(58,785 posts)Hillary already has a relationship with Kremlin, and the Kremlin regards her as something of an "iron lady" who would continue our current efforts to lower world oil prices and halt Russia's increasing aggression, while Trump's not only quite admiring of Putin's ruthless authoritarianism, but his election would confirm to the world all the Russian propaganda stereotypes of an America that is imploding.
The Kremlins Candidate
RT America, the U.S. branch of the global cable network formerly known as Russia Today, funded by the Russian government, has become a great admirer of Trump. And guess who's now working there -- Ed Schultz! The RT show, The News with Ed Schultz, now features Putin-friendly discussions about the failings of U.S. policy in the Middle East, Americas bloated defense budget and the futility of NATO strategy.
Even Trump is getting a new look from Schultz. Speaking at various points on RT in recent months, Schultz has said that Trump has tapped into an anger among working people, is talking about things the people care about, and even, as Schultz recently declared, that Trump would easily be able to function as president.
Those are strange words coming from an ex-MSNBC liberal better known for casting Trump as a racist lout. But just under the surface of RT is a bought-and-paid-for propaganda vehicle trying to nudge viewers toward Russias side of the story... In its early days, RT mostly offered a Kremlin-friendly diet of international coverage, feeding the Obama-bashing, America-in-decline narrative with C-list commentators who couldnt get an airing elsewhere on cable TV. But that was before Donald Trumpwhose unlikely mutual admiration for Russias strongman president has been one of the stranger subplots of this American political season.
The blustery billionaire has praised Putin as a strong leader, spoken of closer ties with Moscow and mused about whether NATO is obsolete. At the foreign policy speech Trump delivered in Washington on April 27, the Russian ambassador to the United States was sitting in the front row. As Trump has risen, RT has gotten much more interested in the U.S. presidential campaign. Tune in to Ed Schultz and his colleagues these days and youll find a presidential race featuring Hillary Clinton as a malevolent warmonger, Bernie Sanders as an insurgent heroand Donald Trump as a foreign policy savant.

From International Business Times
When questioned on MSNBC's "Morning Joe" about Putin's apparent penchant for killing journalists or invading countries, Trump said, "He's running his country, and at least he's a leader, unlike what we have in this country," adding that the U.S. "does plenty of killing" as well.
...
Trump has also attracted support from other nations with somewhat sour feelings toward the U.S. In a recent newspaper column, the hermetic government of North Korea called the GOP nominee a "prescient presidential candidate."
