National poll: Clinton lead grows over Trump

http://www.politico.com/story/2016/06/poll-trump-clinton-who-is-winning-224298

Hillary Clinton’s advantage over Donald Trump grew over the course of the last week, according to the results of the latest NBC News/SurveyMonkey poll released Tuesday.

In the same week that Clinton clinched the Democratic nomination and Trump continued his criticism of federal Judge Gonzalo Curiel, the former secretary of state leads 49 percent to 42 percent.

Clinton narrowed Trump’s lead among men and white voters to single digits over the past week and now leads Trump by 25 points — 58 percent to 33 percent — among voters describing themselves as moderate. Trump led men by 14 points in last week’s survey but now leads by only 9 points in this week’s poll — 51 percent to 42 percent. Among white voters, Trump’s lead also shrank to 9 points, 50 percent to 41 percent.

but because they will show if the public at large is sensitive to Trump's demagogic arguments.

The MSM seems to have trouble calling Trump for the disgusting character he is and has been treating his speech like another speech (without relating it to his series of tweets congratulating himself and calling Obama to resign). They just called him somewhat about "stretching the truth" and "falsehood". Frankly, without linking it to the extreme comments he has done when let on his own, some people may take that for strength.

Really sad and dangerous.

I would have said Trump should benefit given this is his "wheelhouse" but with all the stupid comments he has made since the tragedy it seems this might turn into a net negative. Also, Hillary should get a bounce from a big win today in DC and Bernie's endorsement that will likely come soon.

But Trump's speech was spectacularly awful. And I'm hearing even solid-right pundits eviscerate him for it.... especially his suggestion that Obama is somehow sympathetic to the terrorists.
