Flashback: June 7, 2008: Hillary Clinton Concedes Democratic Nomination And Endorses Obama

Hillary is a team player.

Bernie's ego will not allow him to concede like Hillary did in 2008 even though that race was MUCH closer.

I also think there is a gender element.

---------------------------------

Sen. Hillary Clinton conceded the Democratic nomination to Sen. Barack Obama Saturday in Washington.

"The way to continue our fight now, to accomplish the goals for which we stand, is to take our energy, our passion, our strength, and do all we can to help elect Barack Obama as the next president of the United States," Clinton said.

"Today, as I suspend my campaign, I congratulated him on the victory he has won. ... I endorse him and throw my full support behind him."

That shows a loyalty to something more than herself. Apparently not the case with Sanders. nt eastwestdem Jun 2016 #4

That sure as hell wasn't the case in February, or in any of the other close races. Ahh well. It's over now. Thankfully.

Carry on.

AND that race was much closer. With him still having yet to concede despite getting blown out, it says a lot.

He committed to campaign in every state until the last vote was cast. He kept that commitment. The last vote was cast about 18 hours ago. Just hours after that last vote was cast he announced that he's doing a live address tomorrow. Why is everyone complaining about what he's saying when he hasn't said it yet?

Gee Wiz.

Seriously.

Chill.

One of the defining moments for me in terms of my opinion of her was the grace she showed once that race was over.

We see now how hard that is for Sanders and many of his supporters. It's pure character. She has a ton of it, and most other folks just don't measure up.

Sanders folks will again try to discount that and make all kinds of excuses, yet here we are with him and many of his supporters and their behavior. You can't talk around that.
