Bernie Sanders Doesn’t Drop Out Of Presidential Race, But News Nets Drop Speech Mid-Way Through

?w=446&h=299&crop=1

With all the primaries over and Hillary Clinton having wrapped up the Democratic nomination, Sen Bernie Sanders is still not going quietly into the political night. However, once it became clear The Vermont Senator wasn’t going to concede to Clinton, MSNBC and other cable news networks cut away from Sander’s speech, which started at 5:30 PM Pacific, after about 15 minutes, though the Senator continued to speak online.

Sanders doing the right thing and conceding the race to present a united front against Trump and the republicans would have been big news.

As soon as the media saw where his speech was going, they cut out.

at this point there's only 3 things he can do that are newsworthy:

if he doesn't do any of those things, the larger universe simply doesn't care about Bernie Sanders anymore.

If you listen to Barney Frank, his great failing in Congress from the very beginning was his self-righteousness and inability to concede that anyone else could be right or even have a point.

In terms of the soaring reputation he built during this campaign, if he continues this way he will become irrelevant to the majority of America, not just the media, and his final followers will end up feeling bitter at everybody else.

... is a campaign about more than just getting a guy into an office... its about changing our political culture... part of the reason we have such depressingly bad candidates is that most people, even those who consider themselves politically "active", regard the whole political process as one big spectator sport... all to the detriment of the rest of us.

And, BTW, the rules allow contested conventions, we have two FBI investigations hovering over the "presumed" nominee's head, who also has record high negatives. But the banks, the defense contractors, the multinationals and Comcast backs her so... we'll have to sort this out at the convention.
But we can push for a bottom up conversion of the Dem party starting with good people running for local office.
