(58,785 posts)I'm in the Clinton camp, have been ever since I decided he wasn't the right stuff, but like millions of others I don't "shrug" him or them off.
But for his small faction that itself thrills to feeling victimized, I say go ahead. Mine the web for satisfaction, thrill to fantasies of being abused and discarded, take bitter pride in the thought being ignored--if that's what floats your boat.
I personally don't get it, but hey. Far from me to deny others their pleasures.

Just 12 million active Democratic voters have now become a mere after thought to the high and mighty,
Well, it won't be our fault if Hillary loses. Since the campaign, and you, don't care for us 12 million active Democrats, how do you think the majority mass of independents will be made to feel?

(13,685 posts)Note to Jury: This is a verbatim copy of the title and an excerpt of a source we use all the time at DU. This is not the opinion of the op.
Chicago (CNN) Hillary Clinton may be the presumptive Democratic nominee, but the fight to unify the party and its traditional allies in the wake of an unexpectedly long and contentious primary is poised to go on much longer.
The more than 3,000 Bernie Sanders supporters and progressive activists gathered here at the "People's Summit" have engaged in little open talk about Clinton, preferring instead to plot a path forward in the wake of the Vermont senator's defeat -- and questioning the motivations of the Democratic Party and the legitimacy of its nominating contest.
"There is massive corruption in the machinery of the Democratic Party," said RoseAnn DeMoro, the executive director of National Nurses United, the powwow's principal organizer, who had endorsed Sanders. "The only way that we can overcome that corruption and manipulation is for all of us not to work in isolation."
DeMoro lamented the party's push to gather endorsements and support from Sanders' backers, calling it "a very negative dialogue."
Its message, she said, is that "if you're not with Clinton, then you're pro-Trump."

(3,335 posts)As much as you might not like it, Public Officials must interact with many people. What does being an a$$hole accomplish. We all know that the Clinton's have a friendship with the Bush family. Former presidents have always been part of a small clique. The fact that they can be cordial to one another speaks well of our sense of governance. I guess we could be like some of these third world nations who execute their predecessors. I'm sure that would make for a collegiate transition of power.

(3,709 posts)not one little bit, but this is a harmless photo. Who knows, she might have been thinking what a dork he is but too polite to show it. The continued use of photos of the Clintons with the Bushes, or the Trumps, or with anyone they believe they can use against them is comical. I have a picture of me with Hillary Clinton from when she was first lady, does that make me suspect? OMG... Hillary was smiling when she had her picture made with a Southern white woman who must be Republican because no Southern White woman is a Democrat. This one is.
I realize it's not as silly as that but enough. if you have a legitimate argument about Hillary Clinton, not innuendo obtained from right-wing publications, post it, discuss it but stop trying to turn every moment of her life into some sort of scandal. That's apparently the Republicans job... don't do it for them.

Bad judgment for a former first lady to share a moment with a former president? Are you serious?

Note this: when it is necessary for a candidate to steal an election, and that candidate does nothing to stop or even recognize the theft of a Democratic Election, then that candidate is not a Democrat or a patriotic American... rather that candidate is part of the oligarchy - a coup d'etat.

(4 posts)The Hill loves linkbait. That is, stuff that would make Bernie and Hillary supporters fight.
In fact, One person who is not even a current Clinton aide called Bernie Sanders an "afterthought."
In the headline, the linkbait-loving journalists turned this one guy or girl into the entire "Clinton camp".
And we started arguing because we swallowed the bait.
It's time to recognize The Hill as a linkbait-loving garbage site. This is the type of headline that generates visits, and retweets, and discussion board threads, etc.
In short, money.

(1,638 posts)Neither of them are stupid people. Clinton knows that keeping the Sanders people inside the Democratic party is going to be good for them. Sanders knows that having a voice within the party is going to be important. Both of them seem to be pivoting to the general and beyond now. Both of them seem to see the use of e 50-state strategy in the long run.
It's possible that some petty personal vindictiveness is keep them at odds, but my best guess is that they've worked out a plan and are in the process of implementing it.

(14,255 posts)That would only be good for Hillary and the DNC. All the Sanders people are to Hillary and the DNC is votes and donations and grassroots to be used by Hillary. That's all.

(12,121 posts)She could really help our country most by using his movement to justify the dramatic change our country needs by
-- banning fracking, which is dangerous to those who live near the wells and to the planet, since that gas needs to stay in the ground.
-- institute emergency greening of our infrastructure which will create jobs and reduce our CO2 emissions
-- cancel the TPP, which gives corporations far too much power when they already have too much
-- restore the Voting Rights Act to reduce and roll back the GOP voter suppression that has resulted from its repeal
-- bring in Medicare for All, more necessary than ever due to the current and impending public health crises resulting from climate and economic disruption.
She could do a lot more for her legacy by using the Bernie movement to back up the need to deprivatize government services and restore accountability and efficiency to them.

(1,729 posts)I don't see this picture of Bush and Clinton in the original article so it begs the question, why are you still fighting the primary and trying to bring the candidate down? I'm amazed this post stills stands. Moreover, one thing I will never understand about some political keyboard warriors is their lack of understanding that, at the end of the day, we're all just people. Secretary Clinton and President Bush both lived in the White House and probably understand things about that experience few can. I detest Bush's politics as the day is long but wasn't this at a gathering after a funeral? Would you rather they duke it out for a few rounds in honor of the deceased?
