(10,539 posts)You can alert on every perceived slight and ultimately have DU all to yourselves. Then you can only talk about perfect Hillary. The Hillary with no flaws, the Hillary of your dreams!
That will make for an awesome "political discussion" site! Enjoy your gloating!

(61,033 posts)It's to help Democratic Party candidates get elected.
If Sanders had won, we would be about helping him get elected.
FYI, when Hillary lost to Obama in 2008 it was by a razor thin margin (she actual had more votes, he more delegates), yet she conceded before the convention, campaigned for him pre-convention, and at the convention called for suspension of the first ballot and asked that Obama be declared the nominee by acclamation.
There was no holding out to the convention, she accepted her loss, a much, much closer loss than Sanders has suffered, graciously and moved forward to help the party defeat the repug opponent.
That's how it's done. Defeating Trump now is way more important than anything else at this point. It's not too late for Sanders to pitch in. It will be soon though. He risks permanently damaging his legacy.

(1,528 posts)The Hillary love fest will commence without any factual interruptions from me. I will say this: if she doesn't win the GE or does nothing to advance any progressive ideas, don't come crying to me. I personally feel like the Democratic party is being taken over by Wall St. but nobody seems to either notice or care.

(4,377 posts)The death count of which is likely to be well over one million dead men, women and children, and tens of thousands of Americans. That's who you'd rather spent your time with than a couple of activists who said some things you didn't like?
You should be ashamed of yourself.

(1,528 posts)DU was started because of Bush. I can understand not liking Bernie but to say you'd rather have a beer with W? How absolutely repulsive. Shame on you RJ.

(4,377 posts)Because I find it absolutely despicable that you'd even compare two progressive activists who use language you don't like to a man who stole the Presidency and then used it to kill over a million people? Ok then..
"I marched against those wars. And worked against that president's election.
But I find inane leftist fools as intolerable as venal right wingers"
You find "leftists fools" just as intolerable as right wing war criminals? That's some logic you have there.

(1,236 posts)but just so I could throw that beer in his face - after having spit into it several times
"I'd frankly prefer to have a beer with George W. Bush than either of those two fools. "
You'd rather have a beer with a war criminal who's actions caused over a million deaths but they are the fools? OK have fun with that.

(19,460 posts)A Senator who gets what she asks for after 9/11, praises the sitting President for giving it and he is automatically her "friend?" Like I said, just leave Hillary's name out of it or simply find another web site in which to bash our nominee. This is Democratic Underground, we support the Democratic nominee here and have done so since it's inception.

(28,270 posts)The pretending to be a democrat game ended a long time ago.
Any actual democratic opponent of Hillary's would have quit or suspended their campaign after NY.
Here we are after DC and Sanders still refuses to give up and face reality.
The only beneficiary of that is Trump and his racist party.

(5,761 posts)When it comes down to policy, Bernie IS a progressive. In fact, he's not only the head of the progressive caucus but he also has the most progressive record in the senate. Only in the mind of Hillarians is Bernie not what he is because they can't stand the fact that he exposed your candidate for what she really is; a wall street sell out.

Let's compare Bernie's and Hillary senate votes while they both served shall we? http://www.nytimes.com/2015/05/28/upshot/the-senate-votes-that-divided-hillary-clinton-and-bernie-sanders.html?_r=1
He isn't called the amendment king for nothing http://www.alternet.org/election-2016/bernie-gets-it-done-sanders-record-pushing-through-major-reforms-will-surprise-you
http://www.politifact.com/truth-o-meter/statements/2016/mar/24/bernie-s/bernie-sanders-was-roll-call-amendment-king-1995-2/
Let's take a look at some of Bernie accomplishments http://www.occasionalplanet.org/2016/03/04/a-list-of-bernie-sanders-accomplishments/
While Bernie was fighting for civil rights, Hillary was busy slamming gays and calling people "Super Predators" http://samuel-warde.com/2015/07/12-examples-of-bernie-sanders-powerful-50-year-record-on-civil-rights-and-racial-justice/
Here's Hillary's track record from the senate which is abysmal http://www.dailykos.com/story/2007/11/21/413141/-Hillary-Clinton-Empty-Pantsuit-Her-Track-Record-from-the-Senate
And look! Why is Hillary siding with Republicans so much while she was a senator? http://www.dailykos.com/story/2015/6/4/1390529/-Hillary-s-voting-record

So tell us, what did Hillary accomplish as SOS? Hmmm? What, taking dirty money for weapon deals from Saudi Arabia? Condoning our troops to go off in some far away land to kill other people kids? Sorry I'm not supporting that and millions won't. She will lose the GE because she is flawed and this is on her and only her.
