Hillary Who? Progressive activists not ready for Clinton

Chicago (CNN)Hillary Clinton may be the presumptive Democratic nominee, but the fight to unify the party and its traditional allies in the wake of an unexpectedly long and contentious primary is poised to go on much longer.

The more than 3,000 Bernie Sanders supporters and progressive activists gathered here at the "People's Summit" have engaged in little open talk about Clinton, preferring instead to plot a path forward in the wake of the Vermont senator's defeat -- and questioning the motivations of the Democratic Party and the legitimacy of its nominating contest.

"There is massive corruption in the machinery of the Democratic Party," said RoseAnn DeMoro, the executive director of National Nurses United, the powwow's principal organizer, who had endorsed Sanders. "The only way that we can overcome that corruption and manipulation is for all of us not to work in isolation."

DeMoro lamented the party's push to gather endorsements and support from Sanders' backers, calling it "a very negative dialogue."

Its message, she said, is that "if you're not with Clinton, then you're pro-Trump."

The closest the panelists came to an overt condemnation of Clinton, though, came in their discussion of "neo-liberalism," a less labor-friendly strain of the traditional ideology -- and one often seen to be embodied by the Clinton wing of the party.

It's a concern for some of us.

Her propensity to choose regime change and war over other avenues. Her strong advocacy for fracking and the extractive energy companies. Her push for more H1b visas and outsourcing.

That is part of why I do not support her, at the core tho is her continual lying. The inspector generals report proved she has lied nonstop about her email/server. She also lied continually saying she could not wait to talk to the FBI and clear this up, only to turn around and declare they had to get a subpeona when they asked her.

Honor, and integrity are two words you never hear in a description of Hillary.

Hondouras, Haiti, Iraq, Syria, Libya.

That I have wondered about myself is "does my opposition to Hillary stem primarily from marked differences on policies or instead from her insincerity & dishonesty?" And I have concluded that for me, it's primarily the latter (to be sure, I still worry about her established belligerence).

The Dem party has veered so far rightward as to become the moderate Republicans of the 70s. If I wanted to vote Republican, I would vote Republican.

of die-hard "progressives" who refuse to vote and damage the chances for a Democrat because she's not "perfect."

They wonder why some Clinton supporters are saying not to bother with these sorts of people.

Thinking only that he could weaken the Republican field for Hillary.

Since he is their good friend, and their daughters are also close, then can't we assume he is really a good guy, and this buffoon stuff is just an act? Because if its not an act, why would Bill & Hillary have such a man as a friend?
