2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumLast year, no candidate got more negative media coverage than Hillary Clinton
Fox News ran 330 stories about Hillary Clinton in 2015. About 300 of them were overtly negative, according to new research.
Fox News may have hit Clinton harder than any other news outlet, but its hardly been alone in treating her candidacy with extra scrutiny. Harvards Shorenstein Center on Media, Politics and Public Policy released a report this week that says the top news outlets hammered Clinton in 2015 far more than any other presidential candidate.
According to the report, eight of Americas most influential news outlets wrote coverage "negative in tone" about Clinton 84 percent of the time compared to just 43 percent for Donald Trump, and 17 percent for Bernie Sanders.

The right wing noise machine is in full operation. They are relentless against progressives. We have know for decades how anti-Clinton they are. Fuck the right wing corporate media.

(7,771 posts)Fox News doesn't need a reason to trash a Democrat. It's what Rupert and Roger built them to do.

(30,481 posts)I will always discuss the horrid right wing nature of our corporate owned media. If you don't want to "complain"/criticize the right wing corporate media you don't have to. Don't tell me what to or not to discuss. Thanks. Sanders is also covered in the write-up. Why even comment if it is just to silence people full well knowing you didn't read the piece?

(9,289 posts)I wasn't literally telling you not to complain. I couldn't possibly silence you even if I wanted to, and I don't want to. So no need to take offense. The study was kind of lame because of the criteria it used to determine whether a story was negative or positive. Also, it only covered the period prior to the primaries. The unfair treatment of Sanders really didn't start until the primaries.
